Passed by way of the Bethesda Blog comes the first direct-feed image of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The image is meant to show off the game’s new engine, the Creation Engine. Unlike The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Skyrim doesn’t run on the much-complained-about Gamebryro engine.
Game Informer’s run a whole story on the Creation Engine, where Bethesda Studios creative director Todd Howard details its sophistication and improvements. One of the bigger things, Howard notes, is the engine’s ability “to draw a lot of stuff in the distance” in order to “have a really sophisticated level of detail.”
