Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood this afternoon, detailing in full the third game in the franchise. Scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC this holiday season, players once again take control of Ezio, who is now a Master Assassin.
Ezio heads to Rome, Italy where he takes on the Templar Order as a Master Assassin. Accompanying him on his quest, a brotherhood of assassins will fight by his side. Ezio must work together with these assassins in order to take down his enemy.
Brotherhood‘s single-player is expected to be over fifteen hours long giving players the ability to recruit and train young assassins, deploy them across the city, and call upon them when in need. Historical figures such as Leonardo da Vinci and Caterina Sforza make a return, and new figures like Niccolo Machiavelli make way, too. Like Assassin’s Creed II did with the Villa, Brotherhood allows players to spend their currency to rebuild the capital, but crumbling city that is Rome.
For the first time, Brotherhood offers the franchise a multiplayer mode, where players can take sides with Abstergo Templars trained in art of assassination. Players can choose from a wide range of unique characters, each with their own weapons and techniques, and play across different game modes.
The next issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine will have a “world-exclusive” first look on the game when it hits newsstands on June 1. Afterward, expect to see a lot more at E3.
Ubisoft has released a single screenshot of the game, which you can see for yourself at the gallery.
