tri-Ace working on unannounced game using ASKA Engine

In an article analyzing tri-Ace’s ASKA Engine, which is seen in Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, and Resonance of Fate, the developer mentions an unannounced game using the engine. ASKA stands for tri-Ace Superlative Knowledge-based Architecture.

The game began development in 2009, but tri-Ace have not revealed the title. The game is using a second generation version of the ASKA Engine – which means it should perform better than the already released tri-Ace games.

In late February, tri-Ace director Yakayushi Suguro mentioned that “new Star Ocean” may be in development. This could possibly be the game that tri-Ace is talking about here.

I love SO but I hope they are working on a new title. I enjoyed Infinite Undiscovery and Im really loving ROF even though there are some things I don’t like about it.

  • Tri-Ace’s games always turn out to be my favourites, I just love pretty much everything they make. I’m really enjoying RoF so far too, its just what i wanted it to be!

I agree with FAUNA in that I hope they make a new Valkyrie Profile, though I have a feeling this mystery game will be the new Star Ocean. Either way, it’s probably going to be excellent.

OK i like Star Ocean & Valkyrie Profile, but tri-Ace is no Square Enix.

If i was to want another RPG from tri-Ace, it would be Valkyrie Profile 3 for sure.

  • I’ve got a strange feeling its going to be a phantasy star game since we haven’t heard from them in a while. :P I’m probably wrong lol

I think you’re thinking of the wrong developer.

Sega’s Sonic Team usually handles the Phantasy Star games. tri-Ace develops Star Ocean.

    • lol sorry my bad :P then perhaps another valkyrie profile?

lol, we all make mistakes, allthough i mentioned below that tri-Ace is no Square Enix, i will certainly say that Sega is no tri-Ace.

    • haha I agree 100%, SE games are always awesome :D thats why I’m playing the old ff’s I missed. :P the Star Ocean games have great stories but the character designs aren’t that great. :S Phantasy star games lack story but have amazing character customization. :D

  • Please new PS3 ip!
