The last MX/ATV racer I played and truly enjoyed was Disney Interactive‘s Pure. Since then – and even before then – this generation really hasn’t offered much well-being in that area. That may soon change with Nail’d, an MX/ATV arcade-racer with a goal to be the fastest out there.
Each map in the game is a straight course, with no circuiting involved. This is because there are loads of alternate routes for the player to take, so many that they didn’t include a mini-map because it would probably look like too many knots got tangled up. In place of the mini-map is a bar telling you how much further you’ll need to ride before you reach the end of the track.
The developers have purposely thrown in obstacles such as buzz saws, rock slides, and other things to interfere with your race. In one portion of a map loosely based on Yosemite National Park, a 747 jet lands in front of you. Think that’s crazy? Try racing on a moving train, because that happens too.
The game features a career Mode, time attack mode, local and online multiplayer modes, replay mode and online leader boards. Up to twelve players can race online while the local amount has yet to be revealed.
It sounds crazy, that’s for sure. Destructoid has a full preview running, from which we’ve grabbed our information. It’s really worth a read, especially if you’re into off-road racing.
