GDC ’09: Ivent developing cartoony Strength of the Sword for PS3

Ivent Games, a new independent developer, is currently developing a brand new PlayStation 3 and PC title. Strength of the Sword, as it’s titled, is a third-person, fast-paced, beat ’em up action game set in a fantasy realm.

SCEA mentioned the game on day one of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco yesterday, where they told us in a press release that they’ve updated their cross-platform PhyreEngine to version 2.40.

In Strength of the Sword, you play as Strahil, former leader of the “Upper Kindgom” and victim of a plot leading him to imprisonment. You’ll play through the game on the “Island of Dreams” advancing through four different locations, seeking revenge towards those who imprisoned you.
