Theseis Won’t Have Combat System, PS3 Version Depends on “Corporate Decisions”
Fayez Daud, General Director of Track7 Games, spoke to QJ.net in a new interview about their upcoming Xbox 360 and PC title, Theseis. We hear some interesting new facts on the game, some that may turn you towards other titles. He also gives us word on the game coming to the PlayStation 3 or not, for you gamers interested.
The game will feature no combat system, apparently. Instead, you’ll be faced with obstacles such as traps and have to avoid enemies or find a way to trap them. It’s a puzzle, basically. You’ll also be solving puzzles while you adventure as well, not just for defeating enemies. Fayez says that their “greatest concern in Theseis is keeping the right balance between action and adventure under a non-violence umbrella.”
Punching would be nice.
However, putting aside the missing combat system, the game does have some cool features. The player has a special ability, “Theseis has a similar look with a specific mode in Prey, when the player can see invisible paths and walk on them, although in our game this feature is different and allows for richer gameplay.”
Theseis isn’t a game you’re going to play level-by-level. Fayez says that the “idea is that we want the player to understand the story and think of it as a whole, rather than a series of quests that sort of tie up in the end.”
Track7 still does not know whether or not they will release a public demo for the game over Xbox LIVE. There will be no downloadable content as well, as it is a single-story game.
Fayez also talked PlayStation 3. He said that whether or not Theseis comes to the system depends on “corporate decisions”. He goes on to say that “the engine we are using supports PS3, our assets might need tweaking for it, so technically there isn’t something stopping us.”
Theseis will release first on the Xbox 360, then following up on the PC later.
