Media Create Sales: 10/16/17 – 10/22/17

Sony Interactive Entertainment‘s Gran Turismo Sport for PlayStation 4 sold 150,286 during its first week of release in Japan, the latest Media Create sales figures reveal.

In comparison, Gran Turismo 6, which launched for PlayStation 3 during the start of the PlayStation 4 life cycle in 2013, debuted at 204,784 sales. Gran Turismo 5, which launched for PlayStation 3 in 2010, opened at 430,707 sales.

Also new this week, Bandai Namco and Granzella‘s City Shrouded in Shadow for PlayStation 4 opened at 48,935 sales.

Bethesda Softworks‘ Shinji Mikami-produced The Evil Within 2 debuted at 42,941 sales on PlayStation 4. The original game debuted at 124,144 copies sold across four SKUs—PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

Square Enix‘s Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary sold 42,092 units on PlayStation 4 and 18,784 units on PS Vita for a total of 60,876 first week sales.

On the hardware front, Switch moved another 31,092 units this week. The PlayStation 4 family sold a total of 31,278 units, and the 3DS family moved another 16,198 units.
