The Great Ace Attorney 2 details “Boarding House Ghost Case” story

Capcom has released new information and screenshots of The Great Ace Attorney 2 introducing the game’s “Boarding House Ghost Case” story.

■ Story
A murder case at a cursed boarding house!! Was it the work of an evil spirit, or poisoned tea!?
Before Soseki Natsume finished studying abroad in the British Empire and returned home to Japan, someone living in the same boarding house as Soseki was murdered. Soseki, the first person to discover the body and the last person the victim encountered, was arrested by inspector Tobias Gregson.

“That boarding house is cursed by an evil spirit!”
Soseki, who meets misfortune again, claims that the incident is the work of an evil spirit, that he himself is also cursed, and starts explaining the rumors of the suspicious deaths of the boarding house residents that occurred inside the building…
While gaining the cooperation of Sasato and Iris, Ryunosuke investigates the incident. It seems that the victim and Soseki had an argument that night about Shakespeare, a popular author in the British Empire.
Further continuing the investigation, Sherlock Holmes appears at the scene of the crime with some sort of suspicious device, and starts to investigate with Ryunosuke. Holmes will help Ryunosuke and the others in ways other than “joint reasoning.”
The further Ryunosuke investigates, the more information against Soseki is found, but believing in Soseki’s innocence, Ryunosuke decides to take the stand for him in the courtroom. His opponent… Prosecutor van Zieks!
Ryunosuke feels the intense hatred that van Zieks has towards the Japanese more so than the relationship between prosecutor and lawyer. He believes in Soseki and is not fazed by van Zieks’ attacks, boldly confronting him.
Was there poison in the tea? What are the repeated incidents that occurred in the cursed boarding house? In a courtroom of intensifying mysteries, van Zieks calls upon a new witness to corner Ryunosuke. Who is this witness? And what is the true identity of the evil spirit?
Decargo Mieterman, a man who was peeping in from outside of Soseki’s boarding house during the investigation. What testimony will this man who fled the scene at full speed bring to the witness box?
