Square Enix will release A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV, a side-scroller previously exclusive to consumers who pre-ordered Final Fantasy XV at GameStop, as a free download for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 1 in Europe, the company announced.
A U.S. release date has yet to be announced, likely because today is a national holiday, but will probably launch a day prior on February 28, as it is the standard release day in the country. (Update 02/21/17: Square Enix of America has confirmed a March 1 North American release date.)

A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV is an action game with retro-styled graphics and fast-paced combat. Taking place a fictitious 30 years before Final Fantasy XV, the action centers around King Regis and his faithful companions (Weskham, Cid and Clarus) defending the royal capital from raiding monsters.
