NieR: Automata will have a collaboration with Dragon Quest in the form of the “Cypress Stick” in-game weapon, Square Enix announced at Jump Festa 2017.
By equipping the Cypress Stick, players will not only see the amount of damage they deal expressed in numbers, treasure boxes also appear to change to look more like those from Dragon Quest.
NieR: Automata will launch for PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 23, in North America on March 7, and in Europe on March 10. A PC release is due out in 2017. A PlayStation 4 demo is due out worldwide on December 22.
A new trailer was shown during Square Enix’s live stream of the event. While it has yet to be uploaded officially, we have a stream capture below.
