Update 12/23/16 at 3:45 p.m.: Teruzane Utada has posted an updated statement on Twitter: “One correction. Regarding hikaru’s involvement in Kingdom Hearts III, we are eager to do it. However, our decision is not official yet.”
Original 12/22/16 at 3:30 p.m. Teruzane Utada, the father and manager of Hikaru Utada, has confirmed that his daughter is working on music for Kingdom Hearts III.
“We’ll do it,” Teruzane Utada tweeted in response to a user asking about Hikaru Utada’s involvement in Kingdom Hearts III. “Actually we have already started. Sorry for keeping you waiting.”
Hikaru Utada sang the theme songs for Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, which have been repurposed as remixes for other releases.
Kingdom Hearts III is in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
