Ninja Theory has delayed Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice to 2017. It will release for PlayStation 4 and PC.
In a video update, Ninja Theory cites the following reasons behind the delay:
- Earlier in 2016, a project in development at Ninja Theory was cancelled, which took some time to sort out.
- Ninja Theory had a rare opportunity to collaborate with Epic Games and others to push performance capture technology forward for the whole video games industry.
- Ninja Theory’s progress on Hellblade has not been as fast as it would have liked. One of the reasons it’s creating Hellblade independently is because it puts decisions in the hands of Ninja Theory. Rushing the game out for release or compromising on quality is not something it is willing to entertain.
A final release date is still unannounced.
