The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 first details, screenshots

PlayStation 4 action RPG sequel due out in Japan in winter 2017.

Nippon Ichi Software has shared the first details and screenshots of The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2, its recently announced PlayStation 4 action RPG that is a sequel only in name, as the story and world are unrelated to that of the first game.

An incurable illness that only affects girls.
—“Witch’s Disease.”

An eye harboring mighty power appears on the foreheads of those infected as proof of the disease. When the eye opens, the girl loses her sense of self and becomes a “witch” who destroys whatever she desires.
“Kevala” is a world corrupted by the Witch’s Disease. The people live in fear of witches. A girl named Amalie living in a remote village even lost her parents to a witch. She lives a modest life with her younger sister Milm, the only immediate family she has left.
One day, Milm suddenly disappears. Amalie eagerly searches for Milm, but she was nowhere to be found. Just when she was about to give up on the search for her sister, Milm shows up back at the village covered in mud.
In her hands were “Flowers of Mana,” a present for the older sister she loves. And on her forehead was the witch’s eye that was the enemy of their parents…

Witch’s Disease
An illness developed in children under age 10. Its cause and a treatment are unknown. A third eye appears on the forehead of those infected with the Witch’s Disease, and when the eye opens they awaken as a witch. Human beings who have turned into a witch lose their sense of self and bring about disastrous damage to their surroundings.
Hundred Knight
A demon that appeared in stories passed down from ancient times. The Hundred Knight is a familiar hero for children, as picture books and such themed around the the demon have been published.
Kevala
The world ruined by the Witch’s Disease. The peace is just barely kept by “WR (Weiss Ritter),” an organization created to subdue the witches, and those who live under its protection live modest lives.
■ Characters
Chelka (voiced by Megumi Han)
Chelka is the witch form of Milm, who has fallen ill to the Witch’s Disease. She possesses great power and conducts herself audaciously, but because of her incomplete awakening, she’ll turn back into Milm at unexpected moments.
Amalie (voiced by Sachika Misawa)
Milm’s older sister who belongs the anti-witch organization known as “WR (Weiss Ritter).” She decides to continue being a member while deceiving the organization in order to protect her sister Milm, who has become a witch.
Milm (voiced by Megumi Han)
The witch Chelka’s original form. The surgery to cure her Witch’s Disease failed and she awakened as a witch. She worries about her older sister Amalie, who is overdoing things for Milm’s own protection.
Hundred Knight (voiced by Kaoru Mizuhara)
A “Magic Being (Manania)” that acts as the player’s avatar. While it seems to understand words, it cannot actually speak. It only perform simple mutual understandings, such as positive and negative.
Funinmugin (voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda)
Originally a crow fed by Milm, but transformed into a familiar by the power of Chelka. As a butler, he is responsible for all of the housework. For some reason, he speaks very feminine. He has several baby crows that he provides care for in the scarf around his neck.
■ System
The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 is an action RPG set in a dark fantasy world. The player takes on the role of the “Hundred Knight,” Chelka’s familiar, and can run about a magical, somewhat decadent world. The action elements from the previous game are enhanced for the sequel, allowing players to enjoy the exhilarating action with even more tactics. More information will be shared at a later date.
From battles against a group of small monsters to battles against a single large monster, there are a variety of battles situations in The Witch and the Hundred 2. Of course, there is also a great variety of even further exciting combat systems. Stay tuned for the next update.
From woods where the trees and shrubs are dense and lush, to wastelands where harpies fly about, and extremely cold worlds covered in snow, there are a variety of areas the Hundred Knight will visit in The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2. These are fantastic and beautiful places, but if you’re careless you just might die.
Chelka and Amalie. This is a new The Witch and the Hundred Knight that focuses on these seemingly opposite two protagonists. The curtain will raise on a bewitching and charming tale centered around “witches” and “disease.”
