Atlus hosted a Persona 5 Japanese E3 2016 live stream this morning, where it revealed several pieces of new information about the game.
First, Atlus revealed the game’s ninth party member to be a boy named Goro Akechi, voiced by Soichiro Hoshi. He is a high school student and detective. Further details about the character were not shared.
Next, Atlus released a series of “cooperation character” trailers, introducing Tae Takemi, Munehisa Iwai, and Sojiro Sakura. These cooperation characters are just some of the various people that the protagonist and friends will meet, whether in school or in the city, who possess special abilities and skills. Their interests will align with yours, and by building up a relationship of mutual trust, you can establish a cooperative “Co-Op” relationship with them. By deepening your bonds with cooperation characters, you can use their abilities to go about your life as a Phantom Thief more advantageously.
Atlus also announced it will hold a Persona 5 Premium Event at the Tokyo National Museum on July 19. During this event, those granted entry will be able to play the full version of Persona 5. You can sign up for a chance to attend here. The event will also be live streamed on Niconico.
Finally, Atlus has opened the “School Life” and “Phantom Life” pages on the Persona 5 official website. If you read our Persona 5 article last week, you’re already up to speed as far as the pages’ information goes.
Persona 5 is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan and on February 14 in the Americas.
