Halo Wars 2 will launch for Xbox One and PC worldwide on February 21, 2017, Microsoft announced during its E3 2016 press conference.
Pre-orders for Halo Wars 2 will include Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, a remastered version of the original game, including improved graphics and all of the downloadable content.
Halo Wars 2 will be a “Play Anywhere” title, meaning a single purchase will let you play the game across both platforms.
A week-long beta for Halo Wars 2 will begin today, and is available for everyone to download on Xbox One and PC. It contains the following:
- Domination will be available from today through June 16. Domination is the classic RTS gameplay from Halo Wars, now with all-new units, leaders, special abilities, and the amazing depth of Halo Wars 2. Players will build their bases and armies, and battle for control of the map and supremacy on the Ark.
- Deathmatch will be available from June 17 until June 20. In Deathmatch, you’ll plan and build your base and army – but instead of fighting for map control, you’ll fight until only one player remains standing.
