Square Enix announces initial E3 2016 plans
Next update to reveal more demos, "exciting Tomb Raider news."Square Enix has published the first in a series of “Road to E3” blog updates where it discusses what to expect from the publisher at this year’s E3.
Here’s the full overview of the first update:
■ Square Enix Presents
The Square Enix Presents live show will host discussion about the latest Square Enix announcements, including the latest news, in-depth looks at Square Enix’s lineup, developer interviews, and exclusive live game demos. Square Enix teases “exciting guests from our Square Enix family,” some old and some new, but all with “really entertaining content to share.”
Square Enix presents will be live streamed on Twitch and YouTube.

The following games will have playable demos at the Square Enix booth in the Los Angeles convention center:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution®, builds on the franchises trademark choice and consequence, action-RPG based gameplay, to create both a memorable and highly immersive experience. Players will once again take on the role of Adam Jensen, now an experienced covert agent, and will gain access to his new arsenal of customizable state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations. With time working against him, Adam must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.
HITMAN
Our Episodic release of the latest HITMAN game is in full steam and we’ll be releasing information about the third installment of our seven-part World of Assassination experience. We’ve previously shown Paris & Sapienza. What exciting destination will Agent 47 head to next?
HITMAN is the sixth game in the blockbuster series and is the culmination of a journey started by Io-Interactive more than 17 years ago. It builds on the critically acclaimed and commercially successful foundation of games like Silent Assassin, Blood Money and the recent Hitman: Absolution.
Just Cause 3
Our newest Just Cause 3 DLC entitled the “Land Mech Assault” pack will be playable. Previously released DLC, “Sky Fortress,” took to the air as Rico Rodriguez got a massive upgrade to his wing suite. This latest DLC takes Rico’s chaos causing arsenal back to land where he’ll be able to take control of some devastating mechanized weapons.
The Mediterranean republic of Medici is suffering under the brutal control of General Di Ravello, a dictator with an insatiable appetite for power. Enter Rico Rodriguez, a man on a mission to destroy the General’s hold on power by any means necessary. With over 400 square miles of complete freedom from sky to seabed and a huge arsenal of weaponry, gadgets and vehicles, prepare to unleash chaos in the most creative and explosive ways you can imagine.
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness
With its upcoming launch of June 28th, fans will be able to play the fifth installment of this epic sci-fi RPG.
The latest chapter of the highly anticipated sci-fi role-playing game (RPG) series will be arriving in 2016. Developed by tri-Ace, the celebrated studio behind the Star Ocean series, and with character design by akiman (Akira Yasuda), the game is an epic adventure that introduces seamless transitions between gameplay and dynamic cut scenes, creating a new level of depth of immersive storytelling in video games.
I Am Setsuna
Our Tokyo RPG Factory‘s first introduction to the gaming world, I Am Setsuna, is a homage to the the RPGs that paved the way for current generations of games and gamers.
Established in August 2014, Tokyo RPG Factory is a new studio within Square Enix specializing in Japanese RPGs. The studio revisits the ethos and practices used to develop for the 16-bit era and aims to re-introduce the classic JRPG style to current hardware, mixing the spirit of the past with technologies of today.
Taking inspiration from the golden era of JRPGs and their story telling, innovation and depth – the first title from the studio, I Am Setsuna, will arrive in Europe and North America in 2016.
■ Square Enix Collective Demos
Square Enix Collective is Square Enix’s crowd funding initiative to help developers get their games out to the masses. Its will make its debut on the show floor of E3 this year with two playable demos.
The Turing Test
The Turing Test is a first person puzzler from the developers of Pneuma: Breath of Life that explores the phenomena of consciousness and challenges the meaning of human intuition. Take control of Ava Turing, an engineer for the International Space Agency (ISA), and progress through a narrated story of introspection and morality whilst uncovering the hidden mysteries of Europa. Delve into The Turing Test‘s human interaction puzzles and arm yourself with logical and methodical thinking. Take on tests designed in such a way that only a human could solve them. In an evolving story based on mankind’s inherent need to explore, protect and survive; players search deeper into Europa’s ice crusted core and transcend the line between man and machine.
Investigate the truth behind the ISA research base on Jupiter‘s moon Europa. Solve puzzles using your Energy Manipulation Tool (EMT) to transfer power out from one object and into another. Power up and take control of artificially intelligent machines, manipulate giant structures and solve complex tasks; all woven into a multi-layered story based on the human struggle for control. The Turing Test can only be experienced through the interactive medium of video games.

Black The Fall
Black The Fall is an atmospheric game set-up in a communist dystopian era. Playing as Black, an obedient factory worker, you get one chance to outsmart the oppressive system, but the road to freedom is paved with puzzles, pitfalls and manipulation. A door malfunctions, an opportunity arises. Once out, what will you do to survive?
Square Enix says it has “some other exciting demos lined up on the show floor,” but will share them in its second “Road to E3” blog update, which will also feature “some exciting Tomb Raider news and details on a few new games” that Square Enix has been working on.
