Experience announces Yomi wo Saku Hana for Xbox One
Dungeon RPG maker's latest game is not a dungeon RPG.
Experience announced Yomi wo Saku Hana (The Flowers that Ruptured the Underworld), a new title Xbox One due out in Japan in spring 2017, during its 10th anniversary celebration event in Akihabara today.
The game, which will be the first in a series of RPG projects not in the dungeon RPG genre that Experience has become known for, does not yet have an official genre name, but will incorporate hack and slash-style gameplay. It takes place in the same world as Students of the Round, several years later in the far east in a setting similar to that of Sengoku era Japan. It is ruled by the King of the Underworld and its people have become spirits who can only appear during the night. At the same time, there are those who fight that are not influenced by the King of the Underworld. Party management and character development are said to be completely different from the company’s previous games, and while the concept of classes does not exist, it seems there will be a system where players create their own class.
Experience mentioned that while the first title in its series of RPG projects not in the dungeon RPG genre will be exclusive to Xbox One, and that there are no plans to port it, their second title will be aimed at PlayStation platforms.
The teaser trailer shows a city of corpses, characters named Sakura and Aoi wearing kimonos on a bridge, and flowers blooming on a battlefield.
