Psychological horror Lithium: Inmate 39 announced for PS4
Become Inmate 39 and find a way back to your origins.Independent developer CanuArts has announced Lithium: Inmate 39, a horror platform and 3D puzzle game, for PlayStation 4.
Lithium follows the story of a psychiatric patient who must find the way back to his origins to discover his past and understand what is going on in his mind. The character takes on the form of a humanoid lemur, which represents how he sees himself due to his many mental issues.
Players will need to overcome many perils, traps, and puzzles throughout the game’s seven chapters that total in almost 20 hours of gameplay. Each is inspired by and set in Inmate 39’s vision of the world, and different cutscenes will lead you to your own conclusions.
Around 30 different types of enemies and creatures will appear, each with a meaningful connection to the main story. Most are inspired by drawings created by real psychiatric patients.
Lithium uses fixed gamera angles “in order to increase the sense of calustrophobia and panic,” forcing the main character to “confront his own nightmares.” The game is made in grey scale colors, and vivid blood red wil be displayed in dangerous situation.
CanuArts has also confirmed it is planning downloadable content for Lithium

Overview
Lithium: Inmate 39 is a platform and 3D puzzle game for horror genre. It tells the story of a psychiatric patient who must find the way back to his origins, discovering his past and getting explanations to understanding what is going on in his mind.
As the game story develops, players need to overcome hundreds of perils, traps and puzzles throughout the 7 different chapters of the game. Traumatic past memories from the Inmate 39 will take form on different and uneasing enemies.
Each chapter is inspired and set on Inmate’s 39 vision of his world, the paths that will take him to knowing his truth. Different cutscenes will lead the players to getting their own conclusions. Understanding will get clear at later stages.
Additional content (DLC’s) will also be available, including new clothing for the main character, a gory mini game, and a female hidden character. Lithium Inmate 39 takes approximately 20 hours of gameplay.
