Rumor: New Samurai Shodown due out in 2017
Anime adaptation reportedly also in the works.SNK Playmore is working on a new entry in its Samurai Shodown series due out in 2017, according to two independent sources of Hadoken.net.
The new Samurai Shodown will bring the series back to its roots, and similar to The King of Fighters XIV, use 2D gameplay with 3D models, according to the website.
SNK Playmore is reportedly also planning to release the game alongside a new anime adaptation.
The latest entry in the Samurai Shodown series, Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny, launched for Xbox 360 in 2009. It was the fourth 3D game in the series.
