Another Aksys-published PS Vita game coming to PC.

Mind Zero

Aksys Games and Acquire are bringing PS Vita dungeon-crawler RPG Mind Zero to PC via Steam on March 8, Aksys Games announced.

In Mind Zero, players form bonds with weaponized beings wielding deadly powers. You’ll shift between present day Japan and a mysterious shadow world as you traverse tricky dungeons and battle formidable monsters, and attempt to defeat the forces of darkness to save the world from evil.

Here’s a list of features, via Aksys:

  • Sharpen your MIND, Dominate in Battle – MINDs are spiritual beings who offer unparalleled power to those mighty enough to bend them to their will. Utilize them in intense turn based 3D battles as you journey through cleverly built dungeons filled with unspeakable creatures. Strategy and preparation are the name of the game and those who think carefully and cleverly will reap untold rewards!
  • Welcome Oblivion – Hordes of vile demons, savage spirits, and crafty creatures of Japanese mythology await you in the menacing dungeons of the Inner Realm. Atmospheric corridors and mind shredding puzzles await you on your journey as you descend into the unknown. Prepare for vicious surprises as you’ll never know what’s lurking around each corner!
  • Loads of Content – Dramatic Japanese and English voice acting breathe life into a twisting story full of intrigue. 40+ hours of gameplay and side quests feature tons of secrets to uncover in the Inner Realm! Conveniently speed up battles on the fly. Grind out battles or zip through them as you see fit. Gallery Mode allows you to check out music and art unlocked along your journey!

Mind Zero is the second in Aksys’ PC-port announcements. Last week, the publisher announced Xblaze Code: Embryo is coming to PC on March 1.

Now I can finally play Mind Delayed on Steam

  • Jansen

Must-buy together with Natural Doctrine! :3

    • Zizal

Natural Doctrine is the best game I played on my PS4 so far.

      • Budgiecat

Elle returned that game in less than 24 hours

        • Zizal

Was it the difficulty or he just didn’t like it? I loved the battle system. It’s like improved Valkyria Chronicle battle system with more RPG elements. Loved the jap voice and characters. I loved everything about the game and think they can improve it but sadly I don’t think there will be a sequel.

          • Unretributed

The problem is that it has to be played in a very strict methodical way, one slight improvised move could get you a game over.

It feels fake difficult, like, all it takes is a step by step guide to win even on the highest difficulty. Which is very boring.

            It’s also super ugly.

            • The Fabulous Wombat

What good is a turn based game if you can’t experiment and try out different tactics….

              • Unretributed

Exactly. Anytime you step outside the formula and try something that you think might work that’s all it takes to get a game over.

You can literally have a fully healthy party and lose in a single turn. This made the game “fake difficult” and the people who get off on playing games on blistering difficulties enjoyed it and chalked up the criticism to “casuals being casuals” and “todays gamers are a bunch of babies” but really the game was just bad.

If I’m not mistaken, it was Kadokawa’s first fully in-house developed game so I wasn’t expecting it to be great but I’m also laughing at the people who act like it was some kind of masterpiece or a “hidden gem” when its not.

It’s no more of a hidden gem than Dragoneer’s Aria is. Except Dragoneer’s Aria is the better off the two, and that’s an insult.

          • Budgiecat

I dunno you have to ask her

        • Unretributed

Pfft, I returned it in less than 3 hours.

          I win.

      • KenAyagami

I can’t say it’s the best game… but it definitely is the most unexpected enjoyable game on my list

      • Jansen

And for that you’re already my favorite person!

  • Yaro

Underrated and overlooked vita DRPG. Its got Sugita AND Koyasu, cant beat that. Glad to see PC ports are possible even with games likes this.

I would like that teased sequel, perhaps with some ironed out gameplay.

    • Zack

The comment above yours states otherwise xD

  • Budgiecat

    I wonder if it’ll be 1440p at 144fps

    • DesmaX

Hope it’s SLI & Crossfire Compartible

  • moreover

Haha, lol. I remember them doing greenlight like ages ago.

  • Alos88

It’s a fairly average game, a decent timewaster though the plot never really goes anywhere and seemed to set itself up for a sequel that probably won’t happen. Got the plat for it awhile back- that was quite a grind. :(

  • Zeria

I don’t recommend buying this – this is the one game that is worse than Mugen Souls.

    • BaronKrause

Like censored worse, or gameplay worse?

      • Fighunter

There’s nothing to censor, it’s just a meh dungeon crawler with Persona plot ripoffs and a cliffhanger that will never get resolved.

  • Goth2191

Like Atlus don’t wanna give us Persona 1-2, Mind Zero it is then.
I hope the port is as well made and optimized as the Danganronpa one.

    • Davorbasic

Persona 1 is on pc for a long time now

    • ChieIsLifeButNaotoisBestWaifu

      Emulations son

  • couky

    Keep those games coming :)

  • ednice

    Fucking finally

  • Fighunter

In the time it took to port this game, 3 Neptunia games, Fairy Fencer F, Disgaea 1, Dangan Ronpa, and more all got ported.
That was 1.5 years ago. I still remember mentioning MindZero being ported to PC when petitioning for ports.

  • Mexikado

More Vita exclusives going to PC. Well, at least more people can enjoy them now.

  • ayanami-chan

    Eh… pass

  • Darak

what? I thought this game came to steam like a year ago lol

    • OlimacFTW

  • Taedirk

The game that got me blocked by Aksys’s twitter for calling it bad. Can’t wait to see a brand new wave of reviews.

  • gadgaurd

I can’t wait for Dover to make another “Vita loses an exclusive” topic. I hope someone actually manages to enjoy this, but in all honesty if you have Steam you have much better games to be spending your time on. Then again, same applies to the Vita.

    • Dav Dabz

      Hi Gagaurd XD

  • yeldes

  • KenAyagami

Not a big fan of DRPG… but might as well at least try.. since I have a feeling more DRPG is coming to the PC

  • Tetris

Very nice. Loving all the Japanese games coming to PC.

  • tastyharwze

I thought this game get through greenlight on steam about a two years ago, so there it is, a Persona game on PC, enjoy :)

    • Richard Miller

Hopefully soon we get all the Persona games on PC too.

      • Silent Nyan

I dunno if it’s sarcasm or not but mind zero isn’t a persona game xD

        • Darak

it’s like 1% of what persona really is lol

        • Richard Miller

No I really want Persona games on PC. Well the first one is on PC but not sold anywhere.

          • http://www.raptr.com/Zyzxx Zyzxx

The only likeness this game has to Persona are the MINDs. And even that is minimal when you play the game.

        • Noelemahc

The way it’s marketed though, it’s literally a me-too of Persona. Not owning a Vita, I may now check it out for myself, though, and maybe make saving up for a PS4 less sad.

  • Firion Hope

Didn’t they announce this one like forever ago? I remember winning some contest to get a free code but I didn’t get it because I wasn’t online at the random time several days later they decided to message me.

    • NeoStrayCat

They did, it was a greenlight title for steam, Aksys, just ran with some issues trying to put it up for a release on steam, but there it is. Not only that, but their other greenlight title Magus, is also pending for release, lol.

  • Richard Miller

    About damn time!

  • Lara Croft

With all these Vita games coming to PC. People won’t need a emulator :P

    • Rob

A Vita emulator would be pretty impossible as you need the touch screen features and the 6-AXIS motion control.

      • http://www.raptr.com/Zyzxx Zyzxx

        “Need”? Hardly. PSTV.

Touch screen was one of those spiffy ideas, like countless others, that was quickly abandoned by both first and third party titles.

      • Lara Croft

Don’t u worry, somehow they will figure it out. People said the same thing for Wii, DS etc.

  • Lokoline

I thought about buying this but after seeing some gameplay videos… nope, looks like shit. lol

  • Cyberjin

wasn’t it a really bad game?

    • Satoshi Ookami

Mainly because people compared it to Persona.
And objectively it is worse than Persona, but by no means a really bad game.

Just open ending could have been omitted, though

  • Rob

I bought Mind Zero about 3yrs ago and there really isnt anything to wow about on it.

Its a tile dungeon crawler with a maze like maps with doors and chests. The enviroments are quite poor and basic.

The story is quite predictable and bland.

The enemies/monsters you encounter are quite out of the hat picks and not really imaganative.

The characters are quite 1-dimensional with personalities of the serious, laid back main character, a sports-nut girl, a stupid wild friend and a mysterious detective with a sad past.

The random battles can be quite a grind and statistics and be a little messy like upgrading techniques and merging others to make it stronger or create new ones like upping DEF, ATK, MAG-DEF etc etc

The animations in battles are quite short and some are just the same as others.

    However if I had to point out its good bits;

    Good looking characters
    Not bad OST
    MINDS are pretty cool
    Dark art style

  • batrush

lol, no thanks. keep this trash on vita.
