Street Fighter V also launched last week. It sold a total of 42,000 units on PlayStation 4.

Sooo that would be a no. Thanks for the actual sales figures

      • Budgiecat

        Stripped Fighter V

    • Rain

SFIV opened with over 120K. So these numbers are awful in comparison (50%+ drop)

      • Pastmaster

Fighting scene in Japan is going back to be niche again.

        • Rain

Yeah. Considering how MK doesn’t even release there, SFV flopped, and Tekken 7 has already been out for a long time there now….yeah not looking good. We need new SoulCalibur please.

  • Somerandomperson

Attack on Titan performed better on 3ds I believe

    • Pastmaster

300k LTD. And it released in time before season 1 has ended.

    • quodvadis

      And fans played that thing.

  • Uncle Stoopnixie

Not suprised by SF5 numbers, the game is basically in alpha missing like 70% of it’s content it had to have impacted sales.

  • Rain

I’m so glad Street Fighter V flopped (SFIV opened with nearly 120K). That abomination is a complete trainwreck and should not have been released like this.

Attack on Titan did good…right? 150K at retail is not bad. Though that previous monstrosity of a 3DS game opened with even more. It’s a pretty big series in Japan iirc.

I do not like the Project Setsuna numbers. Sure, it’s a new IP and all, but 60K on two platforms is pretty bad. Though i guess the game had an extremely low budget and Sqaure is gonna make a profit.

LOL LOL LOL at those Wii U numbers. Shortages or not, that is just sad. Damn, Nintendo is sure preparing Japan for the NX. Why else would there be such ridiculous shortages of the system? Lack of interest is probably a factor too, but still.

Holy fuck at dat SMT IV drop… I was expecting legs after the disappointing first week. Guess not.

Hardware sales are awful all around considering it was such a filled week. But glad to see PS4 at #1 again.

    • Dammage

What’s wrong with SF5? It’s missing story that people will spend less than 1% of their time on?

      • Uncle Stoopnixie

it’s also missing challenge, arcade mode and online lobby

        • Pastmaster

          Exactly.

        • Dammage

Which is coming later. It released early for people who only care about the gameplay. It’s hardly an abomination, it’s just not for everyone yet.

          • EspadaKiller

I don’t own the game, but according to my friends that owned SFV basically the online mode is a wreck. Constantly unable to find players. Just admit it, Capcom released the game way too early and that is probably affecting the sales somewhat too.

            • Rain

It definitely did effect the sales, considering this sold about a third of what SFIV did. (First week numbers)

            • Dammage

Server issues are always going to be a feature of online game launches. Sure they should have done that better, but that just takes a few days to fix (psst, that’s why you don’t preorder games).

              • EspadaKiller

True, but I doubt it’s gonna take just a “few days” to be honest. From the looks of it, I don’t think it’s a small issue. It’s online issue is probably equivalent to Battlefield 4’s scale.

Hope that they can fix it asap though, I don’t wish to see a game like SF die in Japan. Yoshi-san and his team don’t deserve this.

            • PuppetMaster

Online mode pretty much works. They did two maintenence; one day after the game released and yesterday.

The server is the problem, not the game. The game itself have solid netcode which i think one of the best netcode for fighting games.

    • Pastmaster

Just like with Ni no Kuni people have already completed the story so the PS3 version suffered.

    • Zebimicio

Someone is a sad pony :)

  • quodvadis

Ikenie did good considering how much budget (or lack thereof) they threw at the thing.

  • badmoogle

    Vita is still fighting hard.Nice!

    • ringgo

yes the irony, considering sony didn’t celebrete 4th anniversary vita this year

  • Renaldi Saputra

I thought kancolle didn’t sold well, so it sold very well, though the reception was bad

    • kudostoyou

probably before people knew this game will brick your vita

      • Renaldi Saputra

well, in Amazon it got a bad – mediocre score, around 2.9, which is still not as bad as Gundam EXVS Force

  • UMR-10

Wii U cold dead in the water, SFV didn’t really do great, Japanese love Squids and PS4 dominating.

    • Pastmaster

That kills the hope for Rival Scools 3. Franchises that is only doing well are MH, RE, DMC, DD and let’s see if Japan want Capcom to return to Onimusha similar to Onimusha 2.

  • Pastmaster

As I expected after Ultra SFIV the fighting scene in Japan is going back to the niche position. Capcom was right to not spend any money on a new game.

    • Elle

I fear for tekken 7 tbh

      • Budgiecat

T7 will do better….there’s more of a gap between releases since USFIV is not that old, and the arcade scene will help build the hype.
It’ll also probably be a more complete game at launch which helps with buyer confidence and word of mouth…

        • Elle

Doubt it. DoA 5 and SCV outsold Tag 2 and that had way more hype and promo than T7.

          • Budgiecat

Im saying T7 will do better than SFV numbers

I didnt say anything about DoA5

and we’re still a year off from T7 probably hitting consoles so there’s more time to market it

            • Elle

I’m saying T7 won’t do that good period. 2017 is way too long of a wait. That’s why I fear for it because if T7 underperforms bai SCIV

              • Budgiecat

I dont understand the grammar of your last sentence there….

waiting doesnt mean anything we’ve waiting 10 years for FF XV, 6 years fotr TLG and an extra 6 to 8 months for UC4. If the game is presented well and is good it should do fine. Fine meaning globally mind you, not just dismal Japan.
There’s also to note that in a year by now, the PS4 scene in Japan can only get better not worse…

  • Elle

People were unnecessarily harsh on setsuna so I’m glad it did pretty good :)

    • oldgameswerebetter

60k over 2 platforms doesn’t really seems that good..

      • Elle

It look like it had a very low budget

      • Homebrew

Yep, specially when it looks like a ps2 game, new ip, seemingly no marketing, and the first game made by the studio.

        • Elle

This is exactly my point as well. It did pretty good for a budget rpg

        • Rain

It’s a Square Enix game, one of the biggest developers in all of Japan. Looking like a PS2 game is hardly an argument either, considering how many 3DS games sell like hotcakes.

          • Coloso90909

Low budget, zero marketing, small developer, new ip, etc

          • Homebrew

3DS games look like shit because 3DS can only handle as much. Unlike the ps4.
And the game is made by Tokyo RPG Factory and published by Square Enix.
Just because is published by them doesn’t mean the game costed millions, look at their smartphone games.

            • Rain

Tokyo RPG Factory is owned by Square, just like Santa Monica studio is owned by Sony. And a lot of 3DS games look beautiful, i.e Resident Evil Revelations and Mario Kart 7, but that is besides the point. Japan buying a shit ton of ugly games on 3DS, smartphones and even Vita sometimes, proves they don’t care about graphics that much for the most part.

              • Homebrew

I don’t understand your points. It’s not about them caring or not, it’s about better graphics = more cost.
And what owning studios have to do with anything? Smartphone games are also developed by owned studios, like hitman go.

                • Rain

I know it had a low budget and will make a profit over the weeks, but these numbers are mediocre at best.

                  • Yuntu

There aren’t many new IPs that can pull high numbers. I think the game did way better than I expected it too, I was actually kinda worried.

      • Yuntu

Don’t forget digital numbers and that this is a new IP with not much marketing and not much budget to begin with. SE was cautious with this game.

    • Elvick

Wish it did better, it looks awesome.

      • Elle

        Same but at least it didn’t do 20k like people were hoping >.>;

    • vishmarx

60k japan only first week is great for a game that was probably made with mobile like budget and in 10 months or so of dev time…
60k is a shit load more than what a lot of big games can say for themselves when it comes to japan…
that being said, i think SE are gonna be a lot more critical of the western sales than japan

      • Elle

I agree so I’m confused why people replying to me were expecting it to sell like a star ocean or final fantasy game just because it’s square.

  • Elvick

Wonder how much longer Japanese developers are going to tack on a PS3 version. Just let it go guys. It’s on it’s way out, and people are moving on.

    • phayroent

Same thing could be said about the Wii U.

      • Elvick

What 3rd party Japanese developer is making Wii U games?

        • kudostoyou

          That treasure f2p game

          • Homebrew

            inst that out already?

          • An Tran

That’s just a quick and dirty F2P game that Bammy threw together to show their “support” for Nintendo (Ninty probably didn’t pay them all that well for it). It’s not like all the other games on the list, as it’s almost competent forgettable.

      • Aluja

Didn’t realize you were from another dimension, where Nintendo already released their next console.

  • Somerandomperson

I have been wondering for a while, what happened to the 360? they show ps3 but no 360?

    • Lokoline

      It’s dead.

    • DanSmith

PS3 sell more than Xbox One… so 360 its dead

    • vishmarx

im not sure what purpose tracking 360 sales would serve…

  • SirRichard

Setsuna seemed to be a rather lowkey game in terms of budget, those numbers aren’t bad considering it’s a new IP from a new studio under a new label. I hope Square Enix weren’t expecting much more from it, though I guess we won’t know until shipment percentages are out.

KanColle Kai sold just under three and a half times of what Street Fighter V did. Got to sting for Capcom.

Splatoon finally fell out of the top 10…

    • WolfDuo

It did well indeed. And perhaps we have to add DD numbers to those. A game like this sells well on the PSN store.

      • yuina

The digital version had a big pre-order discount. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it did another 10-20k digitally.

  • Fooey

Is Kan Colle Kai actually a good game?

    • Yuntu

I heard the port is pretty shit. Though that doesn’t anything about the game.

      • http://k-hermann.deviantart.com/?rnrd airman4

Port have bugs as any other game and as any other game , it will be patched , you know ? like USF4 on ps4

        • Yuntu

No need to defend the game, I don’t actually care about it – but hey of course anything can be patched.

          • http://k-hermann.deviantart.com/?rnrd airman4

It was logical to me , first the game is released and then after some patches fix that , we see that all the time

            • Mr_SP

That’s a bad thing, though. It is, at best, unprofessional to release a game that requires patches at launch to be a solid game.

    • yuina

It’s a great port now that they’ve released a patch.

      • Budgiecat

which doesnt mean shit if your it already bricked your Vita lmao

  • MyBodyIsReady

Wish Setsuna did better. That’s the kind of game I want from Squeenix

    • yuina

60k is pretty good for Setsuna. It’s clearly a low budget game.

  • An Tran

Wow, this time the entire 3DS family only JUST BARELY edged out the Vita this week.

    • OlimacFTW

      Yeah. Stupid sexy Kan Colle.

      • Budgiecat

        remove the sexy part lol

  • PuppetMaster

What a sad day. Gaming market in japan is in big decline.

When there’s game like SF V, Project Setsuna, and SMT IV Final released in the market, tons of japanese players decided to threw their money for games like Kancole -_-

No wonder more and more japanese devs such as Sony, Bamco, SE, KT, etc focused more on gaming market outside japan like China, Taiwan, Korea, southeast asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, etc), along with US and EU because they knew those market are much much more healthier then their own ground.

    • Yuntu

True, we can only hope that mabye the big-shot JRPGs chance that atleast a little bit.

      • PuppetMaster

        I’m crossing all my fingers.

    • http://k-hermann.deviantart.com/?rnrd airman4

what you gonna play in sf5 ?

      • PuppetMaster

What else, beating people ass of course.

      • Slayven19

My friends at work like i was gonna do from the start.

      • Erhe R.

What? Of course SF is big in Japan, idiot.

    • yuina

What the hell do you have against Kancolle? It’s more of a game than SFV.

      • PuppetMaster
        • oldgameswerebetter

you don’t like it =/= not a good game

          • Alibaba035

that’s not what they said, at all. look up gameplay of kancolle kai, its entirely menu based, its not even something like a visual novel. it’s just a psvita version of this battleship girl collecting browser/mobile game.

Now I don’t want to get into the debate of calling it “not a game”, but from the viewpoint of calling it “more of a game than SFV”, the super technical fighting game series spanning almost 30 years, and a massive competitive community.

            • oldgameswerebetter

and so what? it can be all menu and a port and still be more fun

              • Yuntu

And SFV may have no story, doesn’t mean it’s less fun. It’s down to opinion – and PuppetMaster has legit concerns for the japanese market which are justified.

                • Mr_SP

Dubious. SFV lacks a story mode, as you say. That doesn’t mean it’s not fun, but at the mome nt only gamers who are primarily interested in multiplayer get all they want from SFV. Anyone who’s interested in the lore, or single-player, or the potentially free DLC characters, is better off waiting until Capcom actually goes and releases those updates, regardless of how good the combat is. There are other fighting games with bigger casts and more content, and SFV is not being competitive in this way. Attack on Titan is selling better because it’s not trying to release features at a later date.

I’m expecting that SFV will see a resurgence in the sales charts once the content comes out, but at the moment it doesn’t have much to offer.

Kantai Collection is selling because Japan has people interested in paying good money for a game they like on their console, even if they could get it for free. That’s not an inherently bad thing. This just implies that casual games can be financially successful. Though, yes, this is a rather basic port being sold at a much higher price, and I suspect it would be selling better if the enhancements were more significant. The arcade game is definitely far more interesting.

                  • Yuntu

That’s fine and all, but it doesn’t really justify to be like he said Kancolle was shit or something. He doesn’t like it for his own reasons and likes SFV for his own reason, no need to defend Kancolle in that instance. See what I mean? Don’t really want start a useless argument with this, so sorry if you got me wrong.

                    • Mr_SP

It’s not whether he likes one or the other, so much as he thinks he can justify whether one is “more of a game” by posting laugh gifs. It’s not a case of simply preferring one over the other, he’s just trying to dismiss the argument without basis.

Regardless of what one thinks of the price or quality, Kancolle Kai has more non-repeating content than SFV. If anything, SFV is a AAA, Early Access game – it is blatantly incomplete, no matter how pretty it looks.

If anything, neither should really be selling at full price.

                    • Yuntu

Thing is he didn’t start that whole stupid argument. But let’s just stop this right here.

              • Budgiecat

                subjective

              • Alibaba035

Again, nobody said it wasn’t more or less fun. I only said the comment was stupid.

                • oldgameswerebetter

yeah yeah whatever all i see till now is someone pissed because kancolle sold more than SFV

          • PuppetMaster

Sure sure whateva makes you sleep at night bubs ^^

I dont think ‘liking’ has anything to do with trying to state facts (goes for both comments)

        • Budgiecat

I noticed Luna didnt upvote this

          she must be torn lol

      • Yuntu

Maybe, just maybe people have different opinions.

      • Budgiecat

on what level? that its complete product?
or on a pure gameplay perspective?

    • Luna Kazemaru

bruh if you hating on kantai me and you might have issues :V

      • PuppetMaster

As you wish m’lady, i will not hating on kantai just for one day

        :V

        • Budgiecat

          but its justified :p

    • Zatekuyo

Which for me that Western playas which are supporting this game no better then Eastern players.

    • Erhe R.

You are pretty ignorant if you think that “Japanese players” are the ones buying Kancolle. Also, you probably are underage as well seeing how you seem to ignore that foreign market has mattered since the 90s for major JP companies.

    • Budgiecat

why do you think the recent Asia push is so big now?

      Japan is done

  • Jinathin

I been seeing lots of Japanese streamers having Kancolle on side while they are playing other games. It looks like fund time killer :P

  • Delicious Fried Chocobo

Suprised Attack on titan sold more on vita, guess people love to play it on go. :P

    • riserf

A pity that vita version is mostly a lazy trainwreck, I’m losing faith in toukiden 2 more and more, Omegaforce are way too sloppy and inept for a decent multipat.

      • Arcade Fanatic

What’s wrong with the Vita version?

        • riserf

Well, a little of everything: horrible framerate, graphics like in that spider man port, stuff popping out of nowhere. It’s not even an afterthought, Omegaforce has no shame. I sure hope they’ll at least patch it.

          • Logy

Vita version is actually really good. Performance is solid and graphic is good. The only issue is pop-in but that’s to be expected for a game like this.

            • riserf

I’m not sure how anyone could see it like that even from yt videos, but I’m glad at least you are enjoying it.

              • Logy

Well, I have no idea how you can say framerate is horrible. https://youtu.be/FET-_GpAKLs?t=2m32s
                It’s absolutely fine.

                • moreover

Not like I’m on his side, but to be fair, you are showing off the lightest part of the game
                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQWrADMHYNA

                  • Logy

You have plenty of Vita gameplay videos on that channel. Just check them out, it’s perfectly fine.
Havian’s point is that only for a specific titan, in a specific section of the battle had major slowdowns.

                    • Budgiecat

Its NOT perfectly fine wtf lmao stop spreading misinformation

the Titans dont even show up in battle until they get close to you. Horrible pop in.

                    • Logy

I’m talking about framerate. It’s absolutely fine.
As I said, the only issue is the not great draw distance and pop-in.

      • http://k-hermann.deviantart.com/?rnrd airman4

toukiden + kiwami are a trainwreck on vita ? i own toukiden and it’s pretty awesome unless you want ps4 graphics in a vita

        • riserf

No, but those games were exclusive and developed specifically for the console. And now omegaforce is all about “ps4 is a main platform with vita being cheap and trashy ports”. There’s a huge gap between those two handlings, especially in case of a weak developer like Omegaforce

          • quodvadis

“ps4 is a main platform with vita being cheap and trashy ports”

Is this based on anything besides your bizarre complex?

            • riserf

Yes, you can see the actual statement of Koei Tecmo while they were developing AoT, if you check the earlier news, and the quality of their vita-ports is rather self-explanatory.

              • quodvadis

So have you actually played the game yourself or not?

                • riserf

                  Of course.

  • hexashadow13

Street Fighter V did a lot worse than I expected. Everything else looks pretty good.

  • Mohammed Allha

Kan colle was an awful game I just watched the gameplay it was a shame and the vita just lost another popular franchise

    • moreover

what are you even talking about lol

      • Cinnamon

He’s from a group of players who value graphics over gameplay, don’t be so hard on him.

        • moreover

I’m mostly confused about losing another franchise. What is that about?

        • Budgiecat

waifu boats that brick your Vita lol

          awesome gameplay

      • quodvadis

I think it’s best to ignore the guy, he’s been pretty incoherent. A new Vayne with an agenda if you may lol.

  • James Reilly

Kancolle Kai could have easily got more sales if it wasn’t delayed so much. Or was something more then a mobile port.

lol SFV at 40k. How did that compare to the SFIV release? SFV had a terrible launch.

    • Slayven19

Sf4 didn’t do all that well in Japan either, fighting games generally don’t unless its tekken or a one piece fighter. This is average numbers for Japan especially going up against attack on Titan.

      • James Reilly

No SFV for a fighter in Japanese markets did pretty bad as a fan of SF. SFIV more then doubled this release.
        http://beastnote.blogspot.com/2014/12/first-week-sales-guilty-gear-xrd.html
SFV is struggling to get even ULTRA SFIV numbers and only ranked in the mid 20s

        • Slayven19

Sure but Sf4 did terrible in japan too going by the numbers compared to the west. Compare that to an anime fighter like naruto and thats terrible. Sales of fighters always rely on the U.S for console sales. My first comment took that sales data you posted into account.

Its selling bad but thats still normal for japan.

      • Budgiecat

        also Naruto

or JJBA ASB lol (490k first week)

  • Zackasaur

Bring on that physical Setsuna localisation, SE!

We are ready to take the challenge and beat those numbers. :3

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Yeah, I can’t wait for it. I’m pretty confident we can easily top those numbers in NA alone, just need some decent marketing. I would like to see a CE physical copy to also get people more interested in buying it day one.

      • Zackasaur

Definitely agreed. There is an art to launching a new IP. We’ve seen SE do it well before, so hopefully this gets that kind of treatment.

    • miyamoto

      My Chrono Trigger Fix.

  • ayanami-chan

…Kancolle over twice as much as Attack on Titan…
    this does not please me

    • James Reilly

Did you expect any less from waifu boats with the fanbase it has lol That is all you need to sell games :).

      • ayanami-chan

        Japan I am disappoint.

      • quodvadis

If only it was that simple, but sure yea, waifu always sells. Japan! etc.

    • Yuntu

Kancolle is fucking popular in Japan, though with the reports of the port being shit I expected to be just a bit lower.

      • Zizal

Most of it’s sells are from the preorders.

    • Seigi no Mikata

But Attack on Titan sold actually slightly more than Kancolle if you count all versions…

    • quodvadis

What do you expect after the first 3DS game lol?

  • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I guess all the delays for Kan Colle Kai actually paid off. xD

    • Fighunter

Actually, retailers are reporting that the amount sold is just preorders, and the actual stock sitting around isn’t really going away!

      • moreover

Famitsu is reporting 80-100% of stock sold out, who are you quoting lol

        • Seigi no Mikata

I think he means those 80-100% were all preorders

          • moreover

But he must understand that it’s impossible.

            • Seigi no Mikata

You know, nothing is impossible, and Kancolle Kai is clearly the kind of game that is massively preordered (since it’s targeted to the same audience who preorders games)

If one game is to sell almost only via preorders, I think it’s Kancolle so I think it’s possible

              • moreover

It does have a lot of preorders but no store leave literally no stock on the shelves. None. If the situation you describe is even theoretically possible, the sell-rate at the the very supernaturally best case would have been around 60-80% not 80-100%.

        • Fighunter

          Rakuten’s weekly comment.
          http://ranking.rakuten.co.jp/weekly/101205/

          • moreover

he obviously failed to grasp the overall situation then

            • Fighunter

Rakuten is a store chain. They said they did sell all their preorders but not a lot more than that.

              • moreover

When the overall numbers and famitsu percentage are in, there’s literally no point in store reviews, they are more of a prediction thing.

    • Sadaharu

Have to say that the delays didn’t really make the game better, or it could be that the game turns out to be much worse without the delays. Anyway, the fanbase is that brings up the sales. I am surprised at the PSN store reviews though, 4.5 stars for it.

The producers and the decision makers of the whole KanColle market are the people I want to punch the most. They are just lazy and giving up all the opportunities they could have

    • Mohammed Allha

But the gameplay is awful really awful

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I wouldn’t know, I just mean sales wise it topped the charts this week. =P

        • Budgiecat

          KanColl KanBRICK now lol

        • Mohammed Allha

You can watch it on YouTube

      • Frii

Yeah, it’s just the browser game + live 2D tweaks. Kancolle Arcade is what Kancolle Kai should be.

        • Mohammed Allha

I agree with you , maybe they will make a ps4 version for it or maybe a better ps vita version

  • Mighty Sam

Well look at that.Never thought that SF V would bomb that hard in Japan.Guess it’s up to the west to bring in the millions,as usual.Shingeki no Kyojin did well as I expected it would.Considering that Japanese devs don’t do PS3 localizations this days for games which are also on PS4 and PSV I hope some people make an English Patch for it as quickly as possible.

    • Ritsuko Blue

It will reach millions… In June! When all the content are in. But as of now. Nope!

      • Slayven19

Sf has never sold well in japan.

  • James Reilly

Also dat near equal Vita/PS4 split for AoT. People keep saying about overlap when it’s a completely different gamer demographic lol

    • Slayven19

Wats funny about that? Vita is killing in japan, ps4 isnt yet numbers are still close. However im hearing ps4 western sales of digimon is higher than vitas. So i don’t see wats funny.

      • Yuntu

He is basically saying that home console gamer and handheld gamer are a different market.

        • Slayven19

Oh, well it kind of is, but he’s probably on vita master race status since he doesn’t have a ps4.

  • Phantom Gamer #TeamRazer

Kan Colle Kai woooooooooooooah! SUCK ON THAT AOT! SUCK IT! WOOP YOUR ASS ON COMBINED!

    • donkey3

      Calm down

      • Phantom Gamer #TeamRazer

Lol, I knew someone fell for it, I don’t hate ATO and I don’t know what the first game is. XD

    • Budgiecat

      but all those bricks

  • Claude

Street Fighter V sales are absolutely catastrophic. It’s doing Bayonetta 2 numbers.

    • VyseLegendaire

      Thank God

    • Pastmaster

Or maybe we get better games now? I’m glad it bombed.

  • Zizal

Maybe if Street Fighter was a complete game and Karin’s face didn’t look like a manly clown it would’ve done better results. Kadokawa did horrible job with their popular IP.

    • Articuno76

Ahaha. Thanks… now I can never unsee it :P

    • Slayven19

Karin looks good to me crappy overall game aside.

    • Pastmaster

If it was a complete game it would possible do 80k LTD but that is still a failure compared to vanilla SFIV at 140k LTD in Japan.

  • Carl_Ed

After its troubled development, I never would have imagined Kan Colle would sell 3.5x the amount as a new numbered Street Fighter game.

I guess Capcom’s development was been pretty troubled in its own right.

    • Pastmaster

15 months in development and Capcom didn’t spend a cent on this game. It was doomed from the beginning in Capcom’s eyes. Hence the lack of arcade version before it’s out on consoles. Capcom believed SFIV 3D for 3DS was going to sell 3 million copies but it only sold 1.1M worldwide and it bombed in Japan. Capcom had no faith in this franchise after that.

Ultra SFIV on 360/PS3 combined did 44k LTD. A very niche franchise to tournament players. Ever since Super SFIV it has sold less for each version.

  • http://www.ecosia.org sepulnation86

nice week for the VITA!!! as a Vita owner, I like to see that it’s is doing pretty well, at least in the east ;)

  • Ritsuko Blue

Yup! Sony’s MONEY at work! This is what Crapcom & Sony get!! Greatness awaits…. LOL!!!

    • quodvadis

lol u mad? dem delicious salty tears

    • Pastmaster

It wouldn’t have change if the game was on more platforms the fighting scene is dwindling in Japan. Capcom was right to not spend any money on this project, neither did MS. I think SF6 will never happen after SF5. Capcom will only spend money on MH, RE, DD, DMC and whatever they will do with Onimusha, but fighting games are dead to Capcom.

    • Luna Kazemaru

all them flavors and you got to be a salty bitch to bad everyone said the game is great just lacking in content but keep that salt up bud… oh wait you are from duel shockers that explains it

    • Fullgore

SFV is a good fighting game but it should have been released with more content and better marketing. Not sure if it was Sony or Capcom who was in charge of that but I never really saw any ads for SFV. Not only that but the game had several beta tests and still failed on launch day. There was just too many things going south for SF.

  • quodvadis

I just noticed that SMT rot, lol.

  • Phantom Gamer #TeamRazer

    There still making PS3 Games?
    Wooooooooooooooooooow…….
