Mirai Moriyama will voice male protagonist Razel and Emi Takei will voice female protagonist Tereshia in Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End, Square Enix announced.
Dragon Quest Heroes II marks Morimiya and Takei’s first times lending their voice to a role-playing game.
Morimiya, who has been playing Dragon Quest games since his childhood, said in a statement, “When the offer came, I was more excited than I’d ever been. It’s a title with just about the same amount of history as my own life. (Editor’s Note: He’s 31. The Dragon Quest series is 30.) I never thought I’d be involved as a voice.”
Takei, who played Dragon Quest games with her parents, said, “I would have never thought the day would come where I find myself in such a familiar game world. It’s a wonderful feeling to hear my own voice in the game.”
In Dragon Quest Heroes II, Razel is a military cadet in Gydwall studying abroad at neighboring country Orenka’s military academy. Tereshia, his cousin, is also a military cadet at Gydwall, who goes to visit Razel. Read more about the pair here.
Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End is due out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita in Japan on May 27.
