Double Fine Productions has shared the first screenshots of Day of the Tentacle Remastered, which is playable on PlayStation 4 at IndieCade this weekend.
First announced at PlayStation Experience 2014, the update to the classic adventure game will feature all new hand-drawn, high resolution artwork along with remastered audio, music and sound effects, as well as a commentary track by the game’s original creators (Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, Larry Ahern, Peter Chan, Peter McConnell, and Clint Bajakian). You’ll be able to toggle between the new and old artwork with the touch of a button, and there will be an optional new UI if you want to play with a verb dial rather than a grid of commands.
Maniac Mansion, the prequel to Day of the Tentacle, which was included as an in-game bonus in the original release, will also be included in Day of the Tentacle Remastered.
Day of the Tentacle Remastered is slated for release across PlayStation 4, PS Vita, PC, and Mac in early 2016. The PlayStation versions will support cross-buy.
