In other words, it won't be like All-Star Battle.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven

There won’t be any paid downloadable content or micro-transactions in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven, CyberConnect2 boss Hiroshi Matsuyama confirmed in the latest issue of Ultra Jump magazine.

“In this game, there won’t be any microtransactions or paid downloadable content,” Matsuyama said. “There might be downloadable content elements like stuff you’ll get as a first-run bonus maybe, but none of it is paid.”

One of the primary criticisms of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle for PlayStation 3 was the inclusion of microtranscations. Players were given a limited amount of Energy, which refilled over time. If you didn’t want to wait for it to refill, you could purchase more Energy via microtransactions. The game also launched with 32 characters, and added an extra nine via paid downloadable content.

Matsuyama also added that the story mode for Eyes of Heaven will follow an original story supervised by series creator Hirohiko Araki.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan this fall. A new demo was recently made available on PlayStation 4 in Japan.

Why are companies suddenly against paid DLC

Is earth slightly off of its axis or something

maybe it must be the increasing power of the paradigm shift that will soon sweep our world.

The stars are all properly alligned.

let me guess companies like Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Sega, Arc System Works, Capcom, Sony Computer Entertainment, And Nintendo will follow suit as well.

    • Kelohmello

Capcom’s already decided on that before this announcement was made. All new content made for Street Fighter 5 will be free and unlockable in-game, that including balance updates and new characters.

Nice to see these companies responding to long-time consumer complaints about being milked to death. Perhaps there have been financial repercussions.

    • Shulk

No kidding people are growing sick of this crap.

We are entering a gold age, people.

I’d love to see all the big AAA publishers following this trend of NO paid DLC, and No Microtransactions in a way make it like the old days. When you buy a game, you get the full 100% of the game instead of 40-60% of your purchase being on disc, and the rest behind a paywall of On Disc DLC.
I must say Finally Capcom & Bandai Namco you guys are starting a trend.let it go viral, spread the word to all the big names in the videogame industry.

  • Shulk

wait I know what’s next Square Enix announces all upcoming Final Fantasy Releases have No paid DLC.
