Tokyo Xanadu screenshots introduce Rion, SPiKA idol group
Meet Tokyo Xanadu's five-girl idol group.
Falcom has gone up with the first screenshots and details for Tokyo Xanadu‘s newly introduced seventh playable character Rion, as well as the members of her idol group SPiKA.

■ Characters
Introducing Rion Kugayama, a member of the idol group SPiKA who attends the same high school as protagonist Kou, and the other four members of SPiKA.
Rion Kugayama (voiced by Manami Numakura)
17 years old. She’s a popular high school idol with coquettish looks and behavior. She’s a member of the five-girl idol group SPiKA, and armed with her talented skills as a singer, is in dispute with two girls of the same group over the center position. Despite her light appearance, she is a hard worker who hates to lose, and polishes her performance daily through lessons.
When other people are around she acts completely devoted to her idol life, but on her own she reveals her true self, and once someone has seen that, she acts defiantly towards them.
Haruna Tendou (voiced by Aya Suzaki)
17 years old. A girl with black hair, a pure attitude, and with orthodox idol charm. She was an initial member of SPiKA with Rion and Reika, and works hard every day to win the center position over them.
She has the looks of a heroine, with many facial expressions and talent as an actress, having recently appeared in dramas and theater shows. She might soon be selected as the commercial character for a major corporation, according to rumors.
Reika Kisaragi (voiced by Ayaka Suwa)
17 years old. One of SPiKA’s initial members, and a friend of Rion’s from when they were in training school. She is very prideful and strict regarding herself and others, and always pursues the perfect concert performance.
The tallest of SPiKA, she also works as a model thanks to her exceptional looks and style. She is popular among male fans, as well as young female fans. According to fans, she likes card games and is actually quite good.
Wakaba Yuzuki (voiced by Ari Ozawa)
A second generation member of SPiKA. She is courageous and kind, will worry for anyone, and has a strong sense of respect for her three senior members. Although she’s not putting out any projects yet, she is expected to in the future and is thus always working hard on her appearance, but currently has very few fans.
While the other members of SPiKA are called by name by their fans, Wakaba is the only member referred to as “Wakaba-chan” (with the ‘chan’ suffix) because of her mascot-like cuteness.
Akira Nanase (voiced by Mutsumi Tamura)
15 years old. At first glance, she looks like a handsome young man. With her short haircut, she’s somewhat of a boyish girl. She has great reflexes, and her dance techniques overwhelm even SPiKA’s three initial members.
She has a close relationship with Wakaba, who is the same age as her, and though she respects her seniors, she and Wakaba mutually support each other. She doesn’t say much, but her retorts are on point when she does. Her words are tinged with kindness.
■ SPiKA
A five-girl idol group currently enjoying popularity. They’re a charming orthodox group who demonstrate full-blown singing ability and cute dances, and have of course attracted attention in the music scene.
Although it started with three members who come from the same training school—Rion, Haruna, and Reika—last year, it added two new members. The reborn SPiKA restarted its activities and became even more popular, with their representative song being “Shooting Star of Love,” which is the theme song to the TV anime Mahou Shoujo: Magical Alisa.
Rion rotates her body and generates a shock wave from her Soul Device (wings) to attack the enemies in front of her. The attack range is somewhat narrow, but by landing continuous hits, you can generate a lightning strike as a finishing attack.
Shooting Skill: Brilliant Ray
An attack where Rion fires super high speed lasers forward from the tip of her wings. You can land a high maximum amount of hits, and when you’re locked on to an enemy, it changes to a homing laser for concentrated fire.
Flight Skill: Sonic Wing
An attack where Rion expands her wings and generates a shock wave from her back while flying forward at high speed. It only consumes a small amount of the skill gauge.
Strength Skill: Slyphy Cyclone
An attack where Rion flaps her wings and generates a huge tornado. The tornado will move while engulfing the enemy, and if triggered at close range, will strike the enemy multiple times, dealing a great amount of damage.
Cross Drive: Serpahim Hearts
An attack that greatly expands Rion’s Soul Device and runs through and around the enemy at super speed. After that, Rion sends out a countless number of homing lasers fire from the tip of her wings, which rains down on her enemies.
Tokyo Xanadu is due out for PS Vita in Japan on September 30.
