Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II Scout System details, screenshots
See Nepgear, Uni, and Ram and Rom's goddess transformations.Compile Heart has updated the official Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II website with details on the game’s Scout System, as well as screenshots showcasing Nepgear, Uni, Ram, and Rom.
Returning from the original Hyperdimension Neptunia, the Scout System allows players to dispatch scouts to dungeons, which can bring back useful information, credits, and items.
Scouts are chosen from a list of those you’ve befriended. Some scouts have special abilities that affect dungeons. Sending them off can therefore trigger special effects within these dungeons that are known as “Scout Effects.” Once scouts are sent off to a dungeon, a countdown is triggered as they go about their work. Once the countdown ends, scouts will return back to town and report on effects that they’ve found while in the dungeon, such as altered experience point and money rates. Normally, once scouts have turned in their reports, they’ll return to the same dungeon for more exploring unless you manually intervene and send them elsewhere.
Beyond these normal duties, scouts are also able to sometimes uncover information on hidden treasure within dungeons, initially providing information on how to make hidden empty chests appear. From there, conditions on how to get hidden treasure chests to appear can be verified within various parts of the game, including dungeon markers on the world map, within the Library menu, and with dungeon maps themselves. Naturally, chest numbers vary from dungeon to dungeon, with numeric information and discovery status being indicated with on-screen icons. It’s also important to note that each unlocking condition must be fulfilled in order for the next one in the sequence to appear.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II is due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan on April 23.
