Sega is bringing Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax to PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in North America and Europe later this summer, the publisher announced.
In North America, the game will be available both at retail and digitally, whereas in Europe it will be a digital-only release.
The Ecole an French Bread-developed 2D fighting game celebrates the 20th anniversary of Dengeki Bunko with a cast of playable characters ranging from Sword Art Online‘s Asuna and Kirito to Accel World‘s Kuroyukihime, as well as a support cast include characters from Durarara!!, A Certain Magical Index, and more.
Playable characters have weak, medium, and strong attacks, and each character has different move sets described as similar in execution, but different in attack range, power, and speed. Assist characters each have two moves that can help players chain combos or ad a defensive strike.
The game features an original story campaign where characters are summoned to overthrow the evil Zetsumu, as well as over 60 new vignettes in “Dream Duel” mode. These vignettes were penned under the supervision of Dengeki Bunko’s writers.
There are also Sega-themed stages, as well as Valkyria Chronicles‘ Selvaria Bles and Virtua Fighter‘s Akira Yuki as playable characters.
