Square Enix explains Final Fantasy Agito+ delay
Tabata points to problem within the development environment.Final Fantasy Agito+, the PS Vita version of the free-to-play smartphone game, was originally planned for launch in Japan on January 15. But it was delayed in October to an unspecified date. In this week’s issue of Famitsu, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD director Hajime Tabata explains the reason for the delay.
“We discovered a big problem within the development environment, and inevitably had to delay the game,” Tabata said. “This is a problem within the development environment of PS Vita, and there’s not much more we can do as a company. Right now, we’re waiting for an update to the development environment, as well as support from Sony Computer Entertainment. As soon as we can pinpoint a release date, we’ll announce it at a later time.”
Tabata also briefly touched on the current state of Type-0 HD.
“We’ve started debugging and are entering the final stages,” Tabata said. “Cameras and movement speed have also been improved, so battles are a lot easier.”
Tabata demonstrated the game’s new camera at Jump Festa.
Thanks, Hachima Kikou.
