Update: A Nintendo representative has told Game Informer that the report is false and the release date will not be announced on Friday.
Original: Nintendo will announce the release date for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U during its Treehouse live stream this Friday.
Speaking at the GameStop Expo in Anaheim, a Nintendo representative said the date would be revealed during the Super Smash Bros. 3DS streaming event.
