Gamescom 2014 Press Conference and Streaming Schedule
Gamescom begins next week. And Gamescom is a big event. You know what a big event calls for? A totally organized press conference and streaming schedule, that’s what. And we’ve got that for you below.
(Note: This schedule will be updated as Gamescom approaches.)
Press Conferences
Microsoft
When: August 12 at 2:00 p.m. CEST / 8:00 a.m. EDT (local times)
Where: Twitch.tv, Xbox.com, IGN.comConfirmed appearances:
- Quantum Break – First ever gameplay presentation.
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection – Next re-imagined map reveal and at least one more announcement.
Likely and rumored appearances:
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – The multiplayer reveal is a day before, but given its partnership with Microsoft, there’s a chance we’ll see more Advanced Warfare at the press conference.
- Dance Central Spotlight and Fantasia: Music Evolved – Both are Xbox exclusives due out for the platform this year, so likely a new trailer.
- Fable Legends – The new take on Fable is due out for Xbox One next year, so likely a new trailer.
- Forza Horizon 2 – The open-world racer sequel is due out in September, so likely a new trailer.
- Halo 5: Guardians – Less on the likely side than others, as we’ve yet to officially see Halo 5 yet. With The Master Chief Collection due out this year, perhaps we’ll get another tease.
- Killer Instinct: Season Two – Probably a new fighter reveal given it’s due out this fall.
- Ori and the Blind Forest – Likely playable on the show floor, so maybe a new trailer.
- Sunset Overdrive – The Insomniac-made open-world game is due out in October, so likely a new trailer.
- ID@Xbox titles – Microsoft has been announcing plenty of indie titles as of late. It should be safe to expect its next flow of Xbox One indies at Gamescom, where it initially unveiled the ID@Xbox program.
- “Big surprises you will not want to miss.”

- Unannounced Japanese PlayStation 4 game – An e-mail sent to press mentions a 30 minute demo on August 13 of an “Unannounced JP PS4 title.” It will likely be unveiled at the press conference the day before.
- Housemarque‘s next game – The Resogun developer teased it will be “announcing something out of this world” at Gamescom. Perhaps we’ll see that Dead Nation successor teased back in September?
- Michel Ancel’s new game – The Rayman creator recently started a new indie studio. A NeoGAF user who claims to have a friend at the studio said, before deleting his post, that we’ll get a first look at their original game (Mojostan?) at Sony’s Gamescom press conference.
