Bravely Second

Bravely Second will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show in Chiba next month, Square Enix announced on a live stream this morning.

The floor demo will feature a new Asterisk holder and new jobs for players to try out.

Additionally, the publisher debuted first ever gameplay of Braely Second during the broadcast. Watch that below.

    NOW we are talking!

I spotted a typo. It is bravely second not Braely Second.

  • RSene

What is a ‘new Asterisk holder’ ?

    • TheFireRed

It means that there will be a new ‘boss’ with a new job. Once defeated, the player will be able to choose that job (or Asterisk) for the playable characters.

      • RSene

        wow, thanks!

Now the wait…will Nintendo carry the beast of burden yet again or will SE get their thumbs outa their asses and localise it?

I’m hoping for Nintendo so we in Europe actually get the games and all the goodies.

    • Martian Wong

I got a question to ask, so this game is being developed by SE and published by Nintendo. So that mean it will never arrive on a PS platform?

      • Franggio Hogland

The first game was published by Nintendo here in the west because SE didn’t/couldn’t /idiots so it’s highly unlikely but as we all know SE likes Remasters so i wouldn’t put it past them to rerelease the game in a few years on other systems. But as for this game? No one knows if SE or Nintendo will publish it in the west. I reckon it’s still being debated and we’ll know more after TGS but remember for now this is 3DS exclusive. Both of the games.

        • Martian Wong

Alright. At least I can count on the remaster version if they do it. My PS4 is excited for Type 0 HD and my Vita cried so much it killed itself.

      • Zackasaur

As Franggio said, Nintendo just helped with publishing in the west. Similarly, Atlus published Demon’s Souls, but Sony own that.

Microsoft are publishing Sunset Overdrive, but they don’t own it. It can come to other platforms, as well. For example, Mass Effect was once published by Microsoft.

Publoshing doesn’t always mean ownership, and the ownership is key. c:

That said, don’t expect Bravely remakes/ports anytime soon… Don’t want to create false hopes.

        • Martian Wong

I get it. So that mean if SE wants to release it on PS Vita, they can .

          • Zackasaur

Yep! They can do whatever they want with it.

          • Axel Villar

While SE can do what they want keep in mind that the small models and textures would look like crap on the ps vita huge screen. The game would need a total make up and SE wont waste money remaking the game so it doesn’t sell well. I love my vita, but money speaks first when talking about SE. Thats why all original new games are 3ds exclusive (KH DDD, FF curtain call, Explorers, BD1 and now the sequel, etc). Cheaper to make, less resources, higher profits with many more sales.

            • Martian Wong

It is not limited to SE only. All companies main goal is to earn money. If they see the market, they will do it. Just like Type-0. It wasn’t coming to the US . But We let SE see that there are demands for it. So SE willing to invest money to make a PS4 and X1 version. How come you didn’t mention those that are not 3DS such as tomb raider? Final Fantasy XV? dissidia 1 and 2 ? KH 3?

    • Zackasaur

      I’m hoping for SE, since NOA are shitty. D;

  • PrinceHeir

Love the costumes at the end :)

    Can’t wait for the game!!!

  • Zackasaur

I cannot wait for the localisation! Will pre-order. LE, please.

  • Wolfe

    Looking forward to it!

  • ShadowFang

I hope they get rid of random battles in this one. I mean, the encounter rate wasn’t crazy or anything – it’s still a dumb, outdated mechanic adopted from tabletop pen-n-paper games that doesn’t need to exist anymore. When Dragon Quest moves past it, everyone should move past it :)
