Xbox One to launch in China on September 23
Thirteen of China's best developers working on the console.Xbox One will launch in China on September 23 for ¥3,699 RMB, Microsoft and distribution partner BesTV announced.
The platform is the first gaming and entertainment console approved for sale in China coinciding with the Shanghai Free Trade Zone one-year anniversary.
The console will launch alongside the following titles from Microsoft Game Studios:
- Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year
- Kinect Sports Rivals
- Max: The Curse of Brotherhood
- Powerstar Golf
- Zoo Tycoon
- Others
Future games from Microsoft coming to China include:
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection
- Sunset Overdrive
- Others
Publishers like 2K Games, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft are working on bringing games like Evolve and Watch Dogs to China, as well.
Microsoft is working alongside thirteen of China’s biggest developers to bring new IP and fan-favorite titles to Xbox One. Perfect World Entertainment is bringing Neverwinter Online over, and studios like Gamebar, Yingpei Games, Snail Games, NetEase, and Tencent are also working on projects. Neverwinter Online will see six months of exclusivity on Xbox One before coming to PlayStation 4.
A special edition pack of the console will include copies of Powerstar Golf and Neverwinter Online, as well as a two-year warranty and local customer service support.
A ¥4,299 RMB Day One Edition will include a limited edition commemorative China Day One controller, a Day One Xbox Live Achievement, and copies of Kinect Sports Rivals and Forza Motorsport 5: Game of the Year, as well as the Neverwinter Online Commemorative Edition Pack, and Powerstar Golf with in-game credit.
Every Xbox One will include free access to Xbox Live Gold through March 2015, as well. And all owners will receive access to two free movies per month, as well as premium sports games such as the English Premiere League free for the first year.
