Square Enix trademarks Imperial SaGa in Japan

The next full-fledged SaGa or another smartphone game?

Square Enix has trademarked “Imperial SaGa” in Japan.

The mark was filed on July 8 and made public today.

Last month, SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu said development on the next game in the RPG series is coming along slowly, but surely, and that it’s being taken “one step at a time.”

It’s uncertain if “Imperial SaGa” is related to the next full-fledged SaGa, however, the title does sound similar to Emperors SaGa, a social smartphone game launched in September 2012. Perhaps the two are related?
