Low budget games should not try to be AAA. Compare this with Bayonetta 2, I mean come on.

    • Six

What on earth are you talking about.

    • Kuro-Law

It looks bland, but we’ve only seen 7min so we should give it time. By bland I mean backgrounds and such. The rest seems fine.

    • ShadowFang

You say “cheap games should not be AAA” – this knows that.

Then you’re complaining that this isn’t in the same league as Bayonetta 2? You’re a mad man.

      Take your own advice.

  • Bob Obb

    Can’t wait

  • Kuro-Law

It doesn’t LOOK that great. Have to play it to decide. It does look low budget.

  • Infinity

    It looks good

  • new_tradition

I never even got into the Avatar series, but I’m interested in the game now o.o

    • Zackasaur

The original Avatar the Last Airbender is absolutely must-watch stuff.

Korra has its ups and its downs, but it definitely doesn’t compare… So that’s up to you. The main issue is that it is full of stupid characters.

  • An Tran

So…why no Wii U? Especially if this is a low budget title.

    • pixxxelz

      Because, Activision

    • Zackasaur

They decided that it’s not worth the investment.

    • ShadowFang

Manpower, probably. Platinum has teams dedicated to Microsoft-exclusive Scalebound, Nintendo-exclusive Bayonetta 2 (WITH Bayonetta: Remastered along for the ride), and then this. I’m pretty sure that the Korra team is the tiniest of the 3, and under a stricter budget/schedule than the other two due to Activision’s scheduling this for release this year.

I mean, Bayonetta 2+1 comes out this year on Wii U as well, but that was in development for awhile before it was announced. I imagine Korra was put together entirely within this year.

  • MrKappa

I just had to check out how the gameplay was and this looks as bad, guess P* can’t always hit it out of the park.
Glad I won’t be missing anything because I was skipping this from the start due to not liking the series to begin with.

  • bf313

Seriously fuck off dude, you’re not proving anything. That guy isn’t anywhere close to as annoying as your posts are and he doesn’t post a wall of meaningless text either.

  • Six

“I might as well be a spambot who contributes fucking nothing”

Yes, you might as well be. You aren’t doing yourself any favors acting like this.

  • pixxxelz

Dear god, ign video player whyyy….

  • bf313

    No one cares, fuck off.

  • Akari Akaza

    I am so getting this….o(^-^)o

    • PrinceHeir

So how’s Corpse Party Blood Drive on Vita?? :D

      • Akari Akaza

Really good the story gets you hook…^_^

  • Budgiecat

Looks more like an Ubisoft Naruto Xbox 360 game than a P*

Not up to CC2’s and ASW level visual wise

    • Six

It’s a cross-gen licensed game funded by Activision that’s selling for $15. I’m thankful it looks as good as it does.

    • ShadowFang

I really liked Ubi Soft’s X360 Naruto titles, lol. Especially Broken Bond. Neither game looked as good as CC2’s fighting games, but man, Broken Bond was rad :)

      • Solomon_Kano

Yea. RoaN and BB were pretty ace. They weren’t actually as pretty, but CC2’s Naruto wore thin for me real quick.

    • Solomon_Kano

Were you expecting as much? Hell, full budget Platinum games don’t look as nice as Xrd, so this damn sure wasn’t going to.

      Come on, cat.

      • Six

Most games in general don’t look as good as Xrd. :P

        • Solomon_Kano

I might go as far to say no game looks that good. Hell, I’m still not sure I believe Xrd itself looks as good as it does lol.

          • Budgiecat

            Xrd is Godly

    • Elvick

To be fair, this is a digital game. So it’s budget would be significantly less than CCS and Naruto, or ASW and Guilty Gear. Plus, they (ASW) are probably planning to re-use that engine for a long time. Thus invested a lot into it. While CCS has been mastering that engine for years. (though the first UNS looks better than this too, but again budget)

Who knows if P* will ever make another LoK game, or even another cell shaded game. (not sure what engine it is, not done with the video so don’t know if they mention that or not)

  • DesmaX

    damn u edgy

    • Budgiecat

I read/hummed that to 2nd Attack on titan OP theme

  • z_merquise

The action looked pretty solid. I love the counter attacks that you can perform, it’s almost similar to Metal Gear Rising’s parrying system.

  • DesmaX

Well, it looks better than your usual licensed game.

If it’s priced properly, I could buy this

  • tubers

This looks like a VITA game (along GR and SKV). Too bad it isn’t in it.

  • ShadowFang

This looks awesome – no surprises there with Platinum developing it. Damn fine choice by Activision to pitch the project to them; I hope they find a good dev for TMNT soon.

As for this; I’ll definitely be downloading this on my PS3 when it releases. Can’t wait!

  • Kobracon

    God do I want a P* Power Rangers game……*drool*

  • Solomon_Kano

    > Platinum Power Rangers game

    > cartoons I grew up with

    • 罪罰

      >stupid fun japanese series
      >stupid fun japanese game
      muh childhud

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

    I’ve got it.
Let Platinum Games do a game based off of “Berserk” starting in the Golden Age and up to Recent.

    That Guts.

    • Kruzzie

Interesting thing; The one game(s) that personifies Berserk more than anything else is Dark Souls. The director himself designs things (weapons locations characters) after Berserk. :)

    • Mar Mar

Dragon’s Dogma and Dark Souls. I always think of Berserk when I play either of these games.

Sooo… Platinum Games please do this okay? =)

  • Sae-Won Yoon

A lot better than i anticipated, especially for a digital only

More enemy variety would be optimal tho

  • Comandante Bushido

    Need moar bewbs

    • Pyrofrost

Yay! The real Comandante Bushido is here ^_^

      • Budgiecat

        dont encourage either. :P

      • Willgaea

Doesn’t take much to make you happy.

        • Pyrofrost

What can I say, seeing him post brings a smile to my face, kinda like Vayne…or whatever his name is that posts here.

  • Pyrofrost

The other guy is actually likable, you’re just being a whiny little bitch.

Not everyone is going to comment the way you want them to. If you’re this bothered or offended by what someone has to say, then report them, shut the fuck up, and move on. Acting the way you’re acting isn’t going to get you anything thing but a ban.

    • Willgaea

I agree with your second paragraph, but likable… hah.

  • Elvick

Looks like it’ll be fun to play. Seems a bit repetitive compared to something like Bayonetta or God Hand.

The animations are a bit meh. Graphics are alright. About what I expected from a digital game with a minimal budget. Not surprised it appears to be linear.

Who wants to take a bet on how long it takes them to remove that mini-game and put on mobile as an auto-runner?

  • Zackasaur

    Pretty underwhelming.

  • 罪罰

Looks really fun to play, dynamic.

  • shogunknight

She runs like shes on fast forward, anyway it looks real fun

    • $1392518

Basically how they did gene’s animation from god hand

  • Guest

I can’t find an Open Thread, so forgive me for the off-topic post. 4Gamer conducted an interview with Masaya Matsuura and a few other Parappa the Rapper staff: Anything interesting in there?

  • LeafTheHero

I might be the only one, but I would love a Xiaolin Showdown game by platinum. I loved that show as a kid and I’m sure platinum could pull it off.
Anyways, I loved MGSR and Bayonetta, so I am definitely looking forward to this.

    • Guardian Byakko

Considering Xiaolin Chronicles it’s possible in the future for a video game, but hard to say “who” the developers would be. I liked the Xiaolin Showdown game and loved the show.

  • Bobby Jennings

    She has Bayonetta’s run, lol.

    It’s like they copy-pasted it..

    Combat looks fun though.

  • Demolish

I will waiting for Vita With retail.(I Hope)

  • tokyobassist

Bayonetta 2 is coming out sooner than people think. This feels like it would be a waste of time and money with something that much better coming out.

Don’t be butthurt. I didn’t say this looked bad.

    • Pyrofrost

They’re cashing-in on a cash cow cartoon. That’s really all there is to this game.

    • ShadowFang

This is going to reach a whole bunch of gamers who couldn’t give less of a sh– about Bayonetta 2 though, especially since it’s releasing on the consoles that B2 ISN’T.

Ain’t nothing wrong with Platinum making a game that exposes more people to how awesome their games are, man. Ain’t nothing wrong with someone making a badass game based on an amazing cartoon either, for that matter ( ^ – ^ ) /

      • tokyobassist

With all do respect, most people could give a shit less about a company like Platinum. Do they make interesting games? Absolutely however the same can be said about Korra as you said about Bayonetta 2. Yes, more people are likely to buy it because it’s a multiplat but Korra’s demographic are buying this game because it’s Korra, not because it’s a Platinum game.

As a fan of Platinum, I gotta say this game looks a PS2 game era beat-em-up. Nothing spectacular but looks fun.

  • Vayne

Cyber Connect 2 would make a visual better. Naruto Storm is an example.

    • Six

Comparing a $60 game published by Namco to a $15 published by Activision.

      Yeah, that’s totally fair.

      • Pyrofrost

Funfact: Did you know BandaiNamco is actually the most valuable publisher in the gaming industry, even more than Activision, EA, or Ubisoft?

        • 罪罰

I don’t know what you’re getting at with that.

          • Pyrofrost

Does a post need to have an intellectual point or an incredible amount of nuance to be worth posting?

The whole point was in the first term “funfact;” and it’s information not many people are aware of. Also, in context, there was a discussion comparing Activision and NBGI.

If what I post bothers you so much, just downvote and report it.

            • 罪罰

              why would I do that

              • Pyrofrost

My apologies man, I’ve been rather irritated lately. I shouldn’t have snapped back like that. :(

        • SolarisSpell

I actually didn’t knew that and it’s interesting.

Do you know where I couldinform myself more about this subject?
(Or is simply reading about each publisher and comparing them?)

      • ShadowFang

Not to mention the difference in team sizes and development schedule… jeez.

  • Bruno Magalhães

The game looks good. I love the way how Platinum Games works.

  • Theotanasia

Game looks beautiful visually, not the best visually, but it looks pretty amazing. Gameplay looks cool too, very unique.

  • Guardian Byakko

Doesn’t look too bad of a game in my opinion

  • Hexodious

Looks at least better than those other Avatar games.

  • SOLOmio

Still would like to play with Avatar Wan and maybe Aang!

  • SOLOmio

I would avatar creator and beat some of u guys online! :D
