Comcept and Inti Creates have released a series of new Mighty No. 9 gameplay video introducing main character Beck’s basic in-game actions.
The first video, below, covers running, jumping, and shooting.
“Though these might be as basic as it gets, they must feel just right as they can potentially make or break the game if they aren’t expertly tuned,” game director Koji Imaeda said. “That being said, that backward jump-shot is real slick!”

The second video covers climbing. Beck will explore big stages “full of ups and downs,” according to Imaeda. “Though you might think to yourself that he looks a little comical climbing up and down those big ladders, let me assure Beck is giving even this simple task his absolute best!”

The third video introduces Beck’s dash action. Watch as Beck glows blue to zip across and underneath obstacles.

The final video covers Beck’s absorb action. Once you’ve weakened the enemy with a few shots, dashing into them triggers your absorb ability, which lets you absorb their robot bits, called “Xel,” and convert them into power-ups. But be careful, as dashing into enemies before properly weakened will damage players greater than average.
