  • bloodiOS

    Very nice~~

  • zakou

7Mil is a lot but i kinda expected more tbh. For a console that sold over 80M units i wish more people got to experience this game :P

    • LunarHaven

I say there are a lot of games that didn’t even push a million sold copies and that more people should play those instead of the last of us.

      • Unretributed

I think people should play whatever they want to play regardless of what anyone else thinks they should be playing.

        That’s just my opinion.

        • Lelouch Vi Britannia

True, very true. Gaming is about having fun above it all.

        • LunarHaven

Of course that goes without saying; but ALOT of gamers only know about the captain obvious games out there and thus only play those which is truly a shame.

    • Elle

It’s impressive for a (new) Sony IP that isn’t uncharted, God of War (minus ashitsion), and Gran Turismo. I expected it to do 2-3 million.

  • Impressionnant

So, it’s not a constant 60fps? That’s a shame. Though, maybe, it is a constant 60fps, and they only added the 30fps for the people who want a more “cinematic experience”. Sorry, I had to say it. Game looks good, though, and I’ll most likely play it when PSNow is available. That service comes out next month or the month after, right? PSNow? More like PSNotNow.

    • Bob Obb

The cutscenes are 60fps video files, so the cinematic argument makes no sense. I’m guessing there was enough drops to 40fps to make ND realize some people would complain

It’s disappointing but not too surprising… To ND’s credit they had to port a game optimized for a very different CPU with higher clockrate than PS4

      • KingNigma

        Gameplay can’t be cinematic?

  • Mana

“30fps lock”. Why is that a feature? Or are they worried about screen tearing? If so, they should have done it from the start.

  • McPoo

Does it not include the Grounded ‘making of’ documentary?

  • chibuki

I definitely want to play it in 30 fps after all the remastering work for PS4

    • Budgiecat

Where’s “PS1 polygon Gourad shading mode”?

  • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

This release is turning into something special.

  • Kurisu Makise

So tempting but no PS4 and I really don’t think I can even afford one this year as I’ve already committed to Xbox One and Wii U. -sigh-

    • Guy Incognito

Sell your Cable Box one then. You’ll realize your mistake when allthe awesome exclsuives are PS4 exclusive like the PS3 and PS2 before it.

  • Budgiecat

still can’t do mirror and water reflection lol and no improved A.I. intelligence

    • seyEliveD

I believe the grounded difficulty has better ai.

  • DarthBrian

Why the hell would anyone want to choose to run the game at 30fps? Are they gluttons for punishment?

    • Nesther

They probably did not manage to make it a smooth constant 60fps. So locking to 30fps is good for those who prefer no fps drops

      • DarthBrian

How could they not get it to be a smooth constant 60fps when Uncharted 4, built for PS4, which looks WAY better than TLOU on PS3 does, is going to be 1080p/60?

        I disbelieve. >_>

        • Nesther

If you want to compare it to another game, compare it to something which has more than a single teaser trailer.

          • DarthBrian

That’s all TLOU remastered has too. :p

            • Lelouch Vi Britannia

              True beyond measure.

      • Dinoshock

Apparently they removed frame rate drops to prevent that. So maybe it is just an option.

    • garf02

its cause its not 60FPS but with drops, likely under 20 even, so making it 30 FPS lowers the resolution but ensures 30 FPS lock.

its likely a way just to allow to take bullshots, and do smooth streams, they already did it on Infamous SS

      • Thulsa

It’s will not drop to 20, it will not drop to 30 even. The reason for a 30 fps lock is so that the frame rate is guaranteed to be 30 and does not go up and down or create ‘screen tear’. It will probably run at 45-60 fps but will never drop to 30 or lower. If as you say it drops to 20 in places then a 30 fps lock will never stay at 30, how can it if it drops to 20?

    • VaultBreaker

I might, bcause the transition from gameplay to cutscene(24fps i assume)would be natural. This game is exceptional at it’s execution as story driven game.So it would be important to make it as immersive as it can.Hell… I was thinking that 60fps might be awkward for me few days ago… and I though that TLOU remastered should have 30fps option.Never though it would actually happen o.0

      • DarthBrian

Pretty sure they’ll make the cutscenes run at 60fps too.

Unless they’ve said otherwise. Have they?

        • VaultBreaker

Maybe, but somehow all of the ps4 version trailer is the pre-rendered cutscene from the ps3 version.Maybe this time around the cutscene would be played in real-time instead of a video.

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

The Last of US sells 7 Million Worldwide! Duh of course its sold that much it’s a fantastic game and plus any gamer with a brain would figure “oh snap it’s from Naughty Dog”. We as Gamers all know that 9.9X out of 10 a Naughty Dog game is going to be Excellent.

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

sure you can run TLOU at 30fps but you know that anyone getting this game will play it at 60fps. Besides the PS4 can easily handle 60fps no problem in comparison to PS3 simply cause the PS4 has more Pixel pipelines to help the system run at a steady frame rate.

Lastly the PS3 was a system running at 512 MB RAM, while as we all know the PS4 has 8GB a big difference.

    • VaultBreaker

Hi captain obvious… or not so obvious… I might have to disagree with you. This tlou remastered is a port from the game that was built for ps3 cell architecture. Now we all know how complicated that shit is for developer. For a port game from ps3 to run smoothly in a pc is not an easy task(see: Dark souls).Even with a high end pc you just can’t force all of those cell architecture’s code into the pc without optimizing it.There are a lot of bad port games from console to pc and the other way around.Just because you have a monster system don’t expect you could run anything on it.Unless Naughty Dog has the time to built tlou for ps4 from the ground up neglecting the original codes for the ps3 version I may agree with your opinion, but since this is very unlikely I disagree with you.Oh and don’t take me as a smartass,Neill Druckmann himself said that the porting development of tlou to ps4 was a hell.

      • Thulsa

He said it was hell because they DID have to rewrite the game from scratch for the PS4 because as you say the cell is totally different from PS4 architecture. The NEW game engine they use for TLoU remastered is the same engine they are using for Uncharted 4 (Uncharted 4 will have a few more bells and whistles but it’s technically the same). None of the cell code was used, only the game resources and even then they went back and used the higher poly/texture/res models they used in the cutscenes for the PS3 and not the ingame models.

        • VaultBreaker

Same engine as uncharted 4?I didn’t know that…Thanks.
