Konami teases gameplay, details, and a "few surprises."

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Konami will live stream an hour-long Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain presentation, hosted by Spike TV’s Geoff Keighley, at Gamescom in Cologone on August 13 at 8:00 p.m. CT / 2:00 p.m. ET.

The event, which will be held at Cologne’s Musical Dome 1600-capacity auditorium, will reveal the latest gameplay and details about the upcoming Metal Gear. A live Q&A session with series creator Hideo Kojima is also planned, as well as “a few surprises.”

You’ll be able to watch the event live on Twitch. Or, if you want to attend, Konami will be running a series of competitions and partnerships where fans can win invites, with further details to be announced shortly.

How much of that will be cutscenes? I kid of course.

Can’t wait! Wonder if they will use this event to show off MGO 3.

“How much of that will be cutscenes?”

Probably like in previous games on the series, just 5% of the overall package ;-)

      You can’t kid! It’s true. ^_^;;

Maybe this’ll be what I wanted E3’s presentation to be (not to say it was lacking or anything, but I wanted MOAR)!

as much as i wantt to watch this, i’ve really been trying to discipline myself and go into this (at least somewhat) blind

  • Solomon_Kano

Show me MGO, Kojima. Show me MGO~

With the hype for the regular game, I almost forgot that we’re gettin this too! MGSV is gonna be MASSIVE :D

      • Solomon_Kano

Yep. That’s what they’ve been silently toiling away on over at KojiPro LA this whole time. Kojima gave a tour to some Sony staff back around the time of E3, so I’d imagine they’ve got something to show for it, since they were watching some people playing the game in the photos he put on Twitter. Unless they were just sitting in the office playing GZ lol.

The game is PW on steroids, man. The hype is too strong.

I’m just hoping they don’t bring back the bugs and glitches that haunted mgo2

          • Solomon_Kano

I can’t say I encountered any in my time playing it, but I never put too much time in on that front. What sort of stuff was going on there?

I’d imagine we won’t see that this time around, with a new team working on MGO though. They’ve been absolutely quiet since their formation, so I’d imagine Kojima’s got their nose to the grindstone making sure things go as smooth as they can for when they finally put it out.

wait MGO is part of TPP?????
      is not stand alone game???
