The game is planned for release for PS Vita towards the end of 2015. There might be support for other platforms, as well, but PS Vita is the current focus, according to Experience president Hajime Chikami.

    This is awesome news!

A deserved treatment. It’s a great game, albeit kinda easy for a dungeon crawler, but perfect for people who want to try out the genre.

    Aw yiss!

    Dopeness!

    200k ww shipment?
    that’s pretty gud.

on a side note, DG2 dungeons could use a tad more challenge. And by challenge i don’t mean heal your self for 9k every 5 turn. cuz that’s BS. (im looking at you Dark Uranus/Pluto)

Are there even any other DRPG with that much shipment?

      P4Q ?

      • Hexodious

        The heck is a P4Q?

Oh yeah, but that’s a spin off of a major franchise, regardless you’re still right though.

    O.O YEEEEEEEES

On that note… is Demon Gaze more similar to Etrian Odyssey or more similar to Class of Heroes? Because I never managed to get into the latter. Gameplay was too boring. (Not as boring as that one for PSP were you start out as a dragon but then end up in human form, though.)

    • Roger

Exactly my doubt. Really appreciated EOIII/IV/EO:U, just can’t dig into Class of Heroes, though.

    • desponent

Eh, I like Unchained Blades though for reason probably different than what people seek on a DRPG.

    • NegativeZero

I’d say it’s not as difficult as Etrian Odyssey, but it seemed closer to EO than Class of Heroes. Honestly though, they’re all close enough to each other that the differences are really in the details, and there’s enough that’s different in the systems etc. that it’s hard to make a full comparison.

It’s got more of a plotline than EO, at least. Dungeons aren’t as interesting either, you don’t have FOEs to deal with. Still enjoyable though.

Do you spend 99% of your time in the dungeon fighting stuff or do you spend more time in town progressing the story? If it’s the latter I probably won’t bother with this.

What made EOI shine was the abhorrent difficulty, the basically nonexistent but still emotionally touching story and random monster fights that were actually challenging and fun.

Class of Heroes had nothing of this

PS: On that note, I found EOIV to be a little on the sucky side, because it was a walk in the park. (Can’t play Untold, US version doesn’t come with JP-Audio and JP version can’t be played on my US-3DS.)

        • NegativeZero

It’s probably not quite 99%, but maybe 95%? Not hugely dialogue-heavy but more story than classic EO. Untold might be closer in comparison but I also haven’t played it to be sure.

The vast majority of the time you’re going to spend dungeon crawling. Periodically heading back to base to heal up and stock up on supplies. The story stuff only comes in at major points.

DG is on my list as soon as the first trailer poped out i knew this will be one of those “must get” Vita games.

Hearing about a second game in developement is very exciting ;)

  • Kuro-Law

ill pick the 1st one up sometime when a sale is up.

I bought the Japanese and European versions, and I’d love to have a sequel. It’s such an addictive dungeon crawler.

  • Hexodious

The game better be a huge improvement or special over the last one, that kind of development time is a bit to much for a DRPG. I’m not a developer, but i’m aware that DRPGs doesn’t take that long to make.

I hope they use the time to work on the balance. The first one’s balance was a mess and soured my experience of the game.

I know this is is 6 months old, but I believe Experience is still working on bringing another of their games to the vita (Stranger of Sword City) so that might be why it’ll will take a while.
