I’m only getting Shinovi Versus, and Akiba’s Trip 2, and those trailers just sealed the deal! That Shinovi Versus trailer was too damn good!

    • http://www.gameanyone.com/DukeVerde DukeVerde

You owe it to your VITA to get *all* of them.

      • MrFinalgamer

But, Story of Seasons, and Corpse Party aren’t coming to the Vita! D= (and yes, I know Corpse Party is on PSN…still need to play that)

        • Orichalon Hades

not here in kangarooland they don’t.

still pisses me off to no end, I just want to give them some of my hard earned kangaroobux, its that too much to ask?

    • Anime10121

Yeah only two I’m interested in as well, Shinovi Versus looks awesome! Gonna hold out on a hopeful port of Akiba’s Trip for PS4 tho…

    • Nonscpo

How can you not want Bon App?tit after that trailer? =3

  • Orichalon Hades

    YES!
SK:SV finally get a western greenlight thank you based XSEED
Gonna grab that and Akiba’s Trip 2

  • Six

    Vita means tits.

  • zeopower6

Oh my god that Bon Appetit thumbnail LOL

  • Unretributed

Senran Kagura Bon Appetit trailer said, “10 playable characters, 22 including DLC”

How can anyone not have a problem with this?

    • TimeMaster

It was worded really badly. You can basically buy half of the game and then buy the other half if you want while there also being 2 actual DLC characters.

    • RedSuisei

It’s the same thing as it was in Japan. It was sold as two packs, pack A and pack B, each containing half the characters. Each pack is also sold at half price, so it really isn’t that much different.

    • Zackasaur

It’s not as bad as the trailer makes it seem. The game is half-price, and then you get the second character pack for the full-price game.

But then there are two true DLC characters who are cheaper.

  • Anime10121

    Dat spread looks tasty…
But seriously, for a rhythm game, that music in the trailer kinda no REALLY sucked :/

Oh well, not my speed anyway, I’m ok with fanservice, as long as it brings something else to the table… so I think I’ll just be content with shinovi Vs. and Akiba’s Trip :P

    • Shippoyasha

I think the music is a placeholder for character songs.

      • Anime10121

Oh, Shinovi Versus’ll be my first SK game, so I guess I’ll see how good the compositions of the series are then :P

If the musics good in that, I may give Bon Appetit a shot!

        • Mnoz

That’s the real music not a placeholder. Go watch any gameplay video of the japanese version, all the music is slow and boring.

          • Anime10121

Well damn, thanks for the heads up…welp, guess I’m back to my original statement :P

        • British_Otaku

So far, all of the SK games are on the 3DS and Vita (mobile card games aside), why would you start with a rhythm game for a story driven action series?

          • Anime10121

Where’d you get the idea I was starting with the rhythm game? Shinovi Vs is the action Vita game :/

            • British_Otaku

I must have been half asleep last I posted… Never mind, dude.

              • Anime10121

Its all good bro. I was just like wut when I saw that comment tho :P

  • Budgiecat

Everytime I see Brandish, I can’t help but think of

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_YqKDxsLlw

  • new_tradition

I ended up pre-ordering Akiba’s Trip. I read it’s more satirical than ecchi, so I hope it’s fun. Some gameplay vids I saw made the combat seem slow, but hopefully it won’t be too much of an issue when I’m actually playing. The English dub from the trailer at least sounds pretty good.

Shinovi Versus looks pretty fun too. The 3DS game was more of sidescroller beat ‘em up, right? Versus looks more like a Musou game in some scenes :O

And lol at Story of Seasons. So unsubtle, but I love they did that xD

  • Felix Sepulveda IV

No update for Legend of Heroes chapter 2. this is going to take a while I see.

    • new_tradition

I’m praying they still release the 3rd game through PSN. I’m waiting for them to release them all before picking them up D:

      • Felix Sepulveda IV

I recommend playing one at a time because the first one was a meaty game. I expect the next two too also be. especially if you don’t have much time in your life. if you forget story elements go refresh yourself on the internet if your worried about that.

      • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

It’ll help XSEED localize them more if you just grab them at release, nothing says desire like a vote with your wallet. (Says the girl who’s gotta pick up FC herself) I intend to double dip though. Steam + PSN version but my priority is the PSN version.

        • http://www.esterior.net/ Endless History

Tom has already said that the sales of Second Chapter will most definitely determine whether or not they can go on to 3rd.

  • Zackasaur

After giving Shinovi Versus a physical release, it’s a bit sad to see Xseed go back to digital-only for Bon Appetit. I’m sure it won’t sell as well as SV, mind, but nonetheless…

    • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owltron

Well, Bon Appetit was digital-only to begin with in Japan actually.

      • Zackasaur

Ah, thanks for that info. I guess that makes it annoying, but a little more acceptable on Xseed’s part.

I’m still mad that Burst was digital-only on 3DS, but I guess the IP was unproven in the west at that point. Here’s hoping that they do the right thing for SK2!

        • MrFinalgamer

Actually EU got a physical version of Burst. Though, after all the shit they get (or rather, don’t get), it’s a nice compensation =P

          • Zackasaur

I know, and I was pretty annoyed. >:c

            Screw Nintendo for region-locking. D;

            • Elvick

              Amen. Region-lock needs to die.

  • Chogokin

Too bad Brandish is being ignored by most people, it looks like the best out of the bunch.

  • Ping92

Preordered shinovi versus from amazon plus the danganronpa 2 LE was pretty expensive with shipping cost. My wallet will be empty soon, guess akiba’s trip can wait

    • LennoG

      That’s what instant ramen for. Who needs fancy food when you can get LE of the game you like! Amirite? ;_;

  • http://hatintime.com/ ShadowFang

Hmmm… Personally, I’m bummed by the lineup.
    > No surprises
    > no Legend of Heroes PC (maybe Carpe Fulgur has an update on their site)
    > no PC-or-PS3 version of Ys Celceta
    > no new Ys or Ragnarok games
    > doubling down on the moe/fanservice-y stuff like Senran Kagura and Akiba’s Trip.

Not a particularly strong lineup from them this year, if you ask me.

Though I’ll keep an eye on Story of Seasons & Corpse Party PC still. Wish Brandish existed on non-PSP platforms, though maybe I’ll check it out when/if i pick up a Playstation TV.

    • Ping92

I don think u can expect Ys celceta in ps3/pc unless falcom starts making 1.

      • http://hatintime.com/ ShadowFang

I know, that’s what I meant. I want to see that announcement :)

Why bring Ys: Origins and Oath in Felghana to Steam and then stop making Ys PC games? It doesn’t make sense to me

        • Kevadu

Those were both originally PC games, though. The PSP version of Oath was the port, and Origins hasn’t been released on any other platforms as far as I know.

The thing is, both those games are pretty old. It just took a while before they got brought over to the US. But if you look at what Falcom is making today, they’ve clearly decided to move away from PC development to PSP/Vita/PS3 stuff. I think the last PC game they made (at least internally, there have been Chinese PC ports of some of the later Kiseki games) was Zwei II and that was in 2008. So I wouldn’t exactly hold your breath.

        • Elvick

Why would that be announced at E3? If Falcom started development, we’d know about it when they announce it in Japan way before we hear about a western release.

Xseed aren’t developers. So expecting a new Ys announcement at E3 is silly.

Same thing with new Ys/Ragnarok games. Pretty sure there aren’t any Ys games waiting for localization. Not sure on Ragnarok.

    • Zackasaur

Celceta isn’t on PS3/PC in the first place.

And I’m glad, tbh. It’s a compelling Vita game.

    • JackDandy

Brandish is really fucking cool and you should most definitely look forward to that. Falcom knows how to dungeon crawl.

    • orzorzorz

you realize that xseed are publishers right? how would they announce a new ragnarok or ys game?

then again, you pair moe with fanservice so i’m not sure why i’m bothering.

  • Razlo

Really happy by almost all of these releases. Thanks XSEED!

  • Bob Slim

    Xseed for the FTW

  • Milewide

But you can’t sow in winter :O

  • Elvick

Shinovi Versus, Bon Appetit and Akiba’s Trip for me.

  • Pyrofrost

Looks like Brandish is the only game out of this list I’m going to bother with, unless XSeed announces the PS4 version of Akiba’s Trip.

However, I’m surprised there is no trailer for TitS 2! That’s due for release this summer, and I will also be getting that.

    • Anime10121

I dont think its still coming this summer. I believe its been delayed til TBA 2014 unfortunately :(

      • Pyrofrost

That’s new to me, the last thing they said was Mid 2014 after Tom and Floofy both came to clear up that flub made by Siliconera concerning XSeed’s Facebook post about the game.

        • Anime10121

Strange, I could’ve sworn I’d seen somewhere that the date’s been changed… but according to their facebook page it does still seem to indicate a summer release…
But if thats the case, I find it increasingly odd that they had nothing to say about it or the Trails series period at E3 this week, I mean, it is one of their most requested titles…
Didnt get a trailer, an update, nothing :(

          • Pyrofrost

Agreed, with all the labor put behind that game, I’d think they would want to generate the most hype about that.

I would be anticipating Senran Kagura if it were the new 3DS game. I really didn’t like Shinovi Versus; though, that could be because it was push by Western journalists as a “Musou like” SK game, and it felt nothing like a Musou game. So I was kinda disappointed in that. I like the more “beat ‘em up feel” of the 3DS game, with a static camera.

            • Anime10121

Gotta wait til I get me an XL before I buy Burst you know, the whole account system thingy :( (sigh Nintendo, come on and modernize your damn account system). I mean I have a 3DS, but I cant play anything on that tiny ass screen, Bravely Default’s CE has just been sitting on my shelf since I bought it…

I’m not really a fan of Musou combat anyway, so hopefully thats a plus that it plays nothing like it to me (the only one thats ever grabbed my attention is the Zelda one, even though I’m not much of a fan of that series either):P

But yeah, its a shame that Trails got nothing but a 1 sentence mention in their E3 press release :(

              • http://www.esterior.net/ Endless History

                Waaaay belatedly:

As far as I know, the first Trails in the Sky didn’t show up at E3 because it’s just a PC release of something that’s already out on PSP, and that they’ve shown at E3 already.

I think the first game’s nearing completion at the moment, so there’s that, at the very least.

Trails in the Sky SC isn’t on there yet because it’s not presentable yet. There’s also the fact that the script is still being edited as well. If you look at Andrew Dice (@SpaceDrakeCF) on twitter, he often talks about it still, for example.

They don’t handle EU stuff do they?

      • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

        Hardly any US publisher does

  • TwinBuns

Bon Appetit’s “tasty, yet totally tasteless” tagline made me laugh. It’s confusing me like some kind of reverse psychology telling me to buy the game.

  • Arcliff7

Aww yiss, Senran Kagura goodness and Akiba’STrip.
