Plus, will Captain N's Princess Lana also be playable?

Agitha Zelda

Famitsu this week confirms two new playable characters in Hyrule Warriors.

Players will be able to control Agitha, from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and another character named Lana.

We’re not exactly sure who Lana is, but it’s possible she’s Princess Lana from the American-Canadian animation Captain N: The Game Master, which features Nintendo characters like Link and Princess Zelda.

Zant and the Twilit Dragon, Argorok, both enemies from Twilight Princess, will also appear in the game.

Hyrule Warriors is due out for Wii U on September 26 in North America and September 19 in Europe.

Oh god, not that Princess Lana!

  • Gyro Zeppeli

If Agitha is in, then we gotta have Groose coming at some point, right?

  • 武神水樹

So I heard she throws bugs

  • Chestnut Bowl

What a random entry. She was weird enough to fondly remember, though. Her and her weird poems.

Argorok was my favorite boss in Twilight Princess. I hope it’s even more exciting in Hyrule Warriors.

I do hope it IS Lana from Captain N. What a nostalgic trip that would be. I hope we get to fight through Videoland!

  • KingNigma

I would have never seen this coming.

  • Sae-Won Yoon

    ……..Wait what?

How the heck does one play as Agitha? Summon bugs?

    • Aiddon

probably; she wouldn’t be the first fictional character from Japan to do so

  • Protagonist

Playable Skull kid and Fierce deity link. *Drools*

  • Elvick

    Deku Link pl0x

  • MrKappa

Is this that bug girl? What a weird ass choice, she can’t really do anything.

    • Shinsua

Don’t you worry; Koei Tecmo will find a way. They always do. (Also, if worst comes to worst, she’ll have parasol spins like Okuni.)

    • Aiddon

trust me when I say the Warriors games find ways to make weirdo fighting style. Like in Dynasty Warriors 8 where a dude smacks people around with a piece of cloth.

  • RoyalR R.M

Gives me playable Goron,Zoro,Deku, and Skull kid.

    • Tetsu

      I’m sure those are a safe bet…maybe

  • SuperLuigi

Why? I mean she might have a neat playstyle but I hope there are way more characters. I want Ralph (oracle of ages), groose, darunia with his hammer and the spinning move from majoras mask, Zora link or any zora like Mikau, Ganon pig form, Ganondorf, tetra, gonzo or his descendent from spirit tracks, onox, veran, twinrova, zant, deku scrub, fierce deity link, dark link, demise, vaati wizard form, ravio, hilda, and a gerudo. If not playable on some I want them as bosses then.

  • Six

    Needs Ashei and Nabooru next.

  • ShadowFang

God, that would be great! Captain N characters bumped up into Nintendo canon! lol. Of course, with a complete reboot and redesign, it’s not crazy… it’s still just funny to think about :)

But thank you for putting a picture of Agitha up there! Man, I’ve read this story elsewhere today, and always had the same reaction: Who was Agitha? I played that game all the way through (unfortunately), and couldn’t remember her at all. Now though, she looks familiar – and is another cool design. The playable character roster is awfully female-heavy. Which is cool; Team Ninja’s influence there, perhaps?

Although I’m hoping Zant is actually pretty badass in this. And doesn’t devolve into the stupid, nonsensical, Skullkid-esque crybaby “manipulated” by Ganon like he turned out to be in Twilight Princess (one of the reasons I said, ‘unfortunately’ up there). That guy was a BOSS at the beginning of the game; like Darth Vader. Just waltzing into Hyrule castle, guards dropping left and right at his feet. Heck, he effs Link up and totally leaves him for dead after you complete the Lakebed Temple dungeon!

To take such a well built-up villain and just… toss that all away because Ganon needs to be there for whatever reason? What a way to disrespect player’s time and involvement in the story. And what a way to devalue a character. Apparently other Zelda gamers are pretty complacent too, because it’s not like this ever became a “thing”. People complained about Raiden in MGS2, or how Halo 2 ended (totally unjustified; a ton of middle chapters in trilogies end on a cliffhanger after a climactic moment, including Empire Strikes Back and The Two Towers), but Zelda’s story gets off scot-free because it’s Zelda? Hypocrisy.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. But if they’re going to drudge up Twilight Princess lore, it’s just going to drudge up bad Twilight Princess memories. So I hope Omega Force x Team Ninja do better with these characters than Nintendo did. That’s all.

Agitha’s theme was a good piece of music.
One of my favourites from the game.

  • Paul Rodriguez

Would be cool. Captain N: The Game Master was so cheesy. I bought it a few years ago on DVD along with Captain N and the New Super Mario World. Cheesy good fun. The character redesigns for the show were terrible (look em up). Along with bad voices (especially Simon Belmont, Mother Brain and Mega Man). Princess Lana was one of the better characters.

  • Yuenku

Lana is more than likely that blue haired mage-looking girl with the book that you can see in the artwork.

  • Willgaea

The programers of this game really love the characters from twilight princess.
