Street Fighter V is in the “early planning stages,” Street Fighter series executive producer Yoshinori Ono said on Twitter.
The tweet comes following a Sponichi Annex report, citing a Kyodo News interview with Capcom president and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto, who expressed interest in a payment system to help new players who lack experience with the game.
But the report was inaccurate.
“The [Street Fighter V] news today about a pay to win model is not accurate and isn’t something we’re planning for,” Ono said on Twitter. “Sorry for the confusion!”
Street Fighter V will likely launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, given both that Tsujimoto expressed interest in the platforms, and that it’s years off.
Thanks, My Game News Flash.
