Mortal Kombat X is in development for release in 2015, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios announced.
A trailer, featuring an original track from Wiz Khalifa titled “Can’t Be Stopped,” was shared. Its video description says the game is “fueled by next-gen technology” and “combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay.”
Platforms were not listed. However, a retailer leak yesterday makes a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC release seem most likely.
Update: New details have come via the official PlayStation Youtube channel.
“For the first time ever, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style,” reads the video description. “And with a new fully-connected gameplay experience, players are launched into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy.”
Update 2: Warner Bros. has confirmed the game will release across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It will make its first public appearance at E3 next week.
The game’s official website has also been opened.
