Threequel adds new characters, due out this November.

LittleBigPlanet 3

Sony Computer Entertainment and Sumo Digital announced LittleBigPlanet 3 for PlayStation 4 during its E3 media briefing this evening.

Due out this November, the threequel introduces new friends for Sackboy in the form of OddSock, Swoop, and Toggle. OddSock is quick and agile, with the ability to wall jump. Swoop can glide thrrough the skies with his fight ability. An Toggle can transform between Big Toggle, who is strong and large, and Little Toggle, who is light, speedy, and can walk across water. Like Sackboy, these new characters are fully customizable with quirky new costumes.

All 8.5 million levels created in LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 will be compatible with LittleBigPlanet 3, now with updated 1080p visuals.

Additional creative layers, such as jumping in and out of the screen, climbing stairs, skating down slides, and zip-lining have also been added.

This is nice. I enjoyed LBP.
Really nice that all the old levels are compatible.

It has no mention from Media Molecule… I’m guessing it’s not them.

I didn’t expect to see LB3 at E3. Totally took me by surprise. Even tho i haven’t played LBP 1 & 2 yet. Can’t wait to play this!

so is save to say MM working on new IP?????

    • Zackasaur

MM already confirmed long ago that they are working on a new IP.

They are also assisting with LBP3, of course.

It looks cute, and unique characters is just the hook that LBP TWO should’ve had to differentiate it from the first game in a more substantial manner. But I’m also super disappointed it’s only 2.5D. I mean, we’ve seen GameGlobe, Disney Infinity and – I’ll give it to MS (even though they don’t support or market it in any serious way) – Project Spark come out since LBP2. MOVE ONTO FULLY 3D PLATFORMING ALREADY, SACKBOY!

    • HassanJamal

They have more to show apparently so maybe 3D platforming is one of those.
