Destiny located in Japan, just as the Japanese niche games from your region are all located to the west, it is a form of loan I suppose.

Well makes sense considering that the install base for the xbone over there is still zero

      Yup, makes total sense actually.

    MS may regret this

Not sure how they could regret this since Sony most likely bought the exclusiveness. I also don’t think Japan is really the market driver that it used to be for console games.

Makes sense knowing maybe like 2 thousand copies will be sold on the 360 and I don’t think 1 will help so yeah.

    Not surprising.

Well after their E3 showing now this i guess all that MS talk about how they are so fucused on japan was just all talk.

Tho who knows maybe TGS is where they plan to show off how dedicated they are to securing japan, tho tbh i truly believe MS has given up on japan and the only reason they are looking to aquire jp titles is for their western customers who enjoy Japanese games.

I don’t see what Destiny, which already is so desperate to be a PlayStation exclusive, has to do with MS and Xbox in Japan. If anything, I’d rather MS focus on getting games which do matter in Japan and Asian territories, rather than a game which might do at most 100-150k. This absolutely has nothing to do with their focus on Japan.

This is being published by Activision. They usually let someone else handle their games in Japan. It’s not that surprising.

Square Enix handles the Japanese localization for Call of Duty. I’d imagine they will handle Destiny as well.

The first in a long line, I suspect. A ton of multiplatform titles didn’t even bother with releasing their Xbox SKUs when it came to Japanese releases in the past. Why change that paradigm up now?
