Upcoming reboot progressing "nicely," says senior producer.

Mirror's Edge

Electronic Arts and DICE provided a behind the scenes look at development on the next Mirror’s Edge at its press conference this afternoon.

The game is progressing “nicely,” according to the game’s senior producer Sara Jansson.

“Mirror’s Edge is all about fluidity, physicality and movement,” Jansson said in a blog post. “We want to make sure we evolve the game and Faith in a way that gives you an exciting new player experience. We want the game to be accessible enough to embrace new players while at the same time reward the skilled player.

“We are also committed to provide the best 1st person close combat in the world. Advanced combat that is integrated into an improved fluidity of movement. These are not small undertakings, but they are challenges that we are up for.”

Wasn’t able to get into the first game but this looks great

    • rurifan

Shooting really ruined the flow of the first one.
I got to some point where I kept getting killed by guys with guns and quit.

      • CosmicNova

Really! You mite need to speed run faster. I never had that problem of someone shooting at me.

        • rurifan

It was some mall area. As I recall, I ran around so much I ended up outside the mall and fell to my doom outside the level :)

          • CosmicNova

I believe the only problem of the game for some was not knowing where to run to.. lol

    • Pyrofrost

I tried the first game, and I really didn’t like it or see the appeal personally.

  • Elvick

Really looking forward to this, wish it were further along so we could see some actual gameplay instead of conceptual sandbox stuff.

  • DarthBrian

The only good part of EA’s conference. The rest was trash.

    Faith lookin’ good. <3 <3 <3

    • AnimusVox

She’s one of my many video game crushes.

      • rurifan

I always thought she looked kinda over-the-top “asian exotic”.
        But not bad.

    • Akari Akaza

No, EA did a good job. WRPG Dragon Age and Mass Effect well not ready still a lot work to be done, but at least we have Dragon Age. These two are the must fun WRPG’s franchises I ever play.

      • rurifan

        DA3, so hype.

      • Elvick

Nope. Most of it was Behind the Scenes, with concept art… and sports (expected but still lame), and too much Sims time (the entire presentation was filler, because the trailer that followed explained everything the presentation did… and way faster)

    • 罪罰

      BattleFront looks sick.

  • Lara Croft

The in-game footage at the end looked great.

  • Bob Obb

Looks like the exact same thing as before. I guess that’s why it’s not called Mirror’s Edge 2
