Bayonetta 2

Bayonetta 2 will launch for Wii U this October, Nintendo announced during its E3 Digital Event this morning.

The game will come bundled with the original Bayonetta, as well, which was originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Both games will come complete with Nintendo surprises and cosplay options for Bayonetta.

Here’s Nintendo’s official outline of the first Bayonetta:

Bewitched Again

The original Bayonetta game is back to bewitch the Wii U console. Bayonetta is here to play, skewering angels with her dazzling moves. Unleash her inner demons with wicked weapons and an expansive combat system, and see if you’ve got what it takes to get a Pure Platinum medal. Exclusive to the Wii U version, Bayonettanow cosplays in Princess Peach, Samus and Link-inspired outfits.Bayonettacomes packed in with the purchase of every retail packaged version of Bayonetta 2.

Punish those who stand before you with guns, a sword, a whip and devastating summons in this critically acclaimed, stylized action game.

Dodge oncoming attacks at the last possible moment to slow down their movements with Witch Time and get the upper hand on your foes. Shoot, shred and blast your way to the highest score, finding more weapons along the way.

Bayonetta’s take on costumes inspired by Nintendo characters add to the mayhem—for example, banish “evil” with the Master Sword and deflect attacks with a Hylian shield, then pick up Rupees dropped by your foes and hear a jingle from The Legend of Zelda as you solve puzzles.

And here’s the outline for Bayonetta 2:

The Witch Is Back

The witching hour strikes again. Brimming with intricate battles that take place in, on and all over epic set pieces, Bayonetta 2 finds our sassy heroine battling angels and demons in unearthly beautiful HD. You’re bound to love how it feels to string together combos with unimaginable weapons and to summon demons using Bayonetta’s Umbran Weave in this frantic stylized action game. Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive. Bayonetta comes packed in with the purchase of every retail packaged version of Bayonetta 2.

Initiate the new Umbran Climax technique to temporarily summon demons and boost Bayonetta’s attack range whenever you fill her magic gauge.

Fight with new over-the-top weapons that open new possibilities to the way you battle, including the Kafka, a bow that shoots poisonous arrows; the Rakshasa, a pair of beautiful katana blades; and a giant rifle-inspired scythe known as the Chernobog.

Team up with a friend in Tag Climax, a two-player online co-op mode.

In online quick matches, you can wager halos, the in-game currency that you earn by defeating enemies. You receive a large sum back if you can prove you’re a better fighter than your partner. Halos can then be traded in a story mode shop to unlock new techniques, buy accessories and pick up alternate weapon variations.

Every chapter ends with a medal ranking: Stone, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Pure Platinum. The more skilled you are, the higher your ranking.

This game is approachable for players of all levels, with settings of three difficulty levels. Through Touch Play, you can play with the GamePad’s stylus and touch screen, regardless of which difficulty you choose.

  • 罪罰

    awww yeaaahhh

    • Budgiecat

will there be a shower scene?

      • DukeVerde

With the Samus outfit on… Oh yeah.

  • rurifan

Costumes to hide skanky Bayonetta might improve things. :)

  • Pyrofrost

    Well that’s amazing news ^_^

  • 武神水樹

    Nice package

  • Kobracon

Makes sense. Oh man, Zero Suit Samus Bayonetta…..mmmm………………….

  • z_merquise

    So it’s a 2-in-1 game. That’s pretty nice!

Still sad to see on what happened to The Wonderful 101’s sales so I’m hoping this turn out to be way better especially with the first game as a bonus.

    • Elvick

This was always going to sell more than Wonderful 101. It’s coming off the best selling Platinum game. Even with the Wii U exclusivity it’d still do better because it’s such a critical hit and has a large following (by PG standards).

  • Elvick

That’s cool. Guess I’ll own Bayonetta 3 times over then.

  • Anime10121

Damn October, HURRY UP AND GET HERE D:

  • kurosan9712

Hope JPN release will have JPN voices for 1st one too.
2nd is confirmed to have them.

  • Bob Obb

If the PS3 could barely handle Bayo 1 I highly doubt the WiiU’s weak CPU can handle it

    • BossTuff

It wasn’t just the hardware that was the problem with Bayo 1 on the PS3, the Wii U can easily handle it.

    • Zackasaur

Bayonetta 2 doesn’t do a tenth of what some PS3 games do, technically. The hardware was fine for it.

The port just wasn’t done too well.

  • new_tradition

Nice surprise. Now if Bayonetta stays a Nintendo series, there won’t be any issues about missing out on the story ^^

  • ConkerBFD

If you’re uncertain about buying this, don’t be! Bayonetta was my first PS3 game and it still is my best action game from the last generation. And I’m counting DMC, “DMC”, GoW, Vanquish, etc.

    • Hidayat246

Vanquish is the best 3rd person ever

  • Tino S

stop, Nintendo, you had me at Bayonetta 2

but seriously though this is great news having both games packed in, I especially like that bit with the costumes at the end there

  • tokyobassist

The DEFINITIVE version of Bayonetta 1. At long last. The 360 port had massive screen-tearing issues and that PS3 version was a sad port. Playable but pathetic.

  • PrinceHeir

    Fuck Includes Bayonetta 1 O___O

    Both are 60FPS X___X

Damn it why the hell did you pass this up Sony!!!!!

    • CosmicNova

I hope Sony and MS is real damn pride of themselves because I’m not… They had no reason what so ever for passing up this game. It may have not sold so well on either consoles but it sure as hell built a fan-base with in it… Who knows Bayonetta 2 probably would have sold better then the first one did.
