Battlefield: Hardline

The next entry in EA’s Battlefield series is Battlefield: Hardline, according to assets spotted on EA’s website.

The new game was discovered by fans through code in today’s Battlelog update. The assets include a logo, background images, and a number of icons.

Platforms listed in the code include PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

A number of other details were also unearthed:

  • There are two teams: Thieves and SWAT.
  • The are at least four classes: Enforcer, Mechanic, Operator, and Professional.
  • Game modes include “Blood Money” and “Heist.”
  • A Visceral Games logo was spotted in the code, suggesting they’re developing.

Over at Koenv, you’ll find icons for the game’s classes, teams, weapons, and vehicles.

With E3 around the corner, we’ll likely hear about this shortly.

Thanks, Better Battlelog.

    Thieves lol, that’s so evil.

Bf4 is the last time I buy an EARLY game at launch. Got the 360 version and it was soooooo broken. Even the crappy single player kept messing up. It was enjoyable online when it worked though

  • shogunknight

Hopefully its multiplayer doesnt give as much crashes. Please be futuristic

  • True Gamer

ok.. BF4 was a necessary purchase for me because it launched with the PS4. However, if this Battlefield retains the same concept of the old ones, then I may pass. Hey, isn’t Dice working on Star Wars Battlefront or is that another company? Because I rather Star Wars than BF5

This information with Battlefield’s history would mean this one would be smaller scaled like Bad Company. Thieves vs SWAT would mean a lot of close quarters urban environments too, which I am not at all opposed to. I had more fun with Bad Company 2 than any other Battlefield outside of 2142.

      • True Gamer

BF Bad Company 2 was the shit so I definitely concur. On the other hand, the essential question is how much will this small scaled battlefield be. I guess we’ll find out on the next episode of E3! (Failed DBZ reference lol).

Yeah. But I don’t think Dice is working on this one. Visceral is probably working on this new Battlefield, while Dice is on Battlefront right now, and we’ll see more of that at E3. Really looking forward to that one, as I’m burnt out on Battlefield right now. A new Battlefront game has been in anticipation for almost a decade now.

This year’s Battlefield won’t work, suggests last Battlefield.

    • DarthBrian

      I lol’d. >_>

  • DarthBrian

So which Visceral team is working on which project?

I’m hoping it’s the main Visceral (i.e. Dead Space team) working on the Star Wars game and it’s Visceral Montreal working on this game as I really don’t want EA wasting all the talent at Visceral proper on yet another stupid FPS game.

    Stop being Activision. >_<

    • Kurisu Makise

Isn’t Amy Henning on the main Visceral team =o?

      • DarthBrian

        Supposedly, yeah.

    • Keegs79

I am sure that team is more focused on Star Wars. It is more of their pedigree.

  • Crossbones (Prodigy-X)

Battlefield Main Numbered Titles & Bad Company Series are worth purchases this seems like a quick cash grab by EA.

  • pekot

I hope it fails hard with new COD

    • Keegs79

I don’t. I hope all games do great. I hope all games turn out to be awesome more than I hope one game would fail. What is the need for wanting a game to fail? Because your selfish in your view by considering you don’t like one franchise. Granted, BF4 had some ridiculous bugs but it doesn’t mean one shouldn’t want them to be able to redeem themselves.

      • pekot

        I hope it fails

        • Keegs79

I want to say its funny but that is actually pathetic. I like to see you say that in front of the whole development house responsible for the game.

  • greenreaper

    Thieves and SWAT.

What? This is Battlefield, right? O . O

    • Mar Mar

It could be something like BF Heroes since BF4 just came out not to mention the amount of gamebreaking bugs (crashes, sound issues, bad optimization, etc). In anyway, Battlefield has lost its identity with the release of BF3. I was expecting it to be like its predecessor but what EA decides will happen. Honestly they had amazing games like old school C&C games, Need for Speed Porsche, Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2.
