NIS America's first trailer for upcoming simulation RPG.

Natural Doctrine

NIS America has released its first trailer for Natural Doctrine, its upcoming PlayStation simulation RPG from Kadokawa Games.

The game launched for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita in Japan on April 3. It’s planned for release in North America and Europe this fall.

Watch the trailer below.

  • dark-kyon

look good,i like characters desing and the atmophere, not great graphic but not look generic how others big budgets rpg how dragon dogma or skyrim.

    • Zackasaur

Those do look generic, though also nicer in regards to fidelity. lol

  • Chogokin

I’m interested to see how low the reviews will be.

  • 武神水樹

Didn’t this game bomb in Japan

    • dark-kyon

in japan also bomb good games.

      • 武神水樹

        Not usually

      • TetsuyaHikari

Yes, but this one just bombed because it was that bad, lol. I kept telling you guys it was terrible since the beginning, but noooooo… Everyone kept trying to give me grief for it, saying that my standards were too high and whatnot. Here’s a word of advice.

If someone who has been playing video games for over two decades tells you that a game looks terrible (not just graphically, but gameplay-wise too), you might want to listen to him rather than discarding his opinion. I’ve been around the block a few times :p

Also, this specific comment wasn’t directed towards you. I was just speaking in general.

        • Elvick

Opinions are facts when they coincide with your own opinion. It’s magic.

I don’t give a shit if Japan didn’t like it. They didn’t like Tokitowa either and I still enjoyed it. And the people in the west trolling it because Japan “didn’t even like it” didn’t stop me from enjoying it either.

You could have invented games and it wouldn’t change anything. Your opinion is just that.

          • TetsuyaHikari

I have no idea what you’re trying to say here, but the game looked terrible since it was first revealed in Japan. I don’t know how anybody couldn’t see it. The moment it sold horribly and bad reviews started popping up on, it just confirmed what I already knew from the beginning.

            • Elvick

“I think it looks terrible, therefore it is.”
“Other people agree with my opinion, therefore it’s a factual assessment of quality.”

Because that’s how the world works.

My point was obvious. And I ended on it, “Your opinion is just that.”

              • TetsuyaHikari

Generally, when you have people to back up your claim and statistical sales figures to defend it as well, you’re generally sitting in a comfortable position to defend the point that it’s trash. Give me a reason to not believe it is and I’ll consider it. You know, something besides, “People’s opinions are different. It doesn’t have to sell well to be a good game. I’m sure there are some that actually enjoyed it.”

                • Elvick

You clearly don’t grasp what an opinion is.

I don’t give a fuck if you think one way or another. Just stop acting like your opinion is the end all be all. It’s not. It’s your opinion.

A ton of people believe God exists, I guess it’s proven now. Since people share an opinion on something and the bible sells very well.

A bunch of people thinking something =/= a fact.

At one point people believed slavery was alright. That didn’t make it so just because people believed it in bulk… and the slave trade made tons of money too so… by your logic, that makes their opinion that slavery is okay, good. Because sales + group opinion = fact.

Don’t like it all you want. But stop acting like your opinion is the opinion we all have to agree on. That is ridiculous.

  • Jason

Looks cool, we will have to wait and see though. Wouldn’t mind another rpg for the vita :-)

  • Muffum

    Okay that’s great NISA.
But what does the game play like?
    What are the characters like?
    What’s the plot?
CG cutscenes and panning shots of enemies don’t really tell anything about the game.

(Note that I do have some idea of what the game’s like, but I imagine for someone who knew nothing about this game, the trailer wouldn’t be very enticing.)

    • Sal Romano

Well it’s the first trailer for a game releasing in the fall. They have plenty of time to tell you all about it. =P

Otherwise, the game’s out in Japan, you could just look up gameplay videos.

  • Mando44646

Looks cool but WTH is the gameplay like?

    • MrFinalgamer

There’s this wonderful thing, which you are using to watch the video, called Youtube. Get this, you can easily click on the search bar, put the game of the game, and voila! You get some gameplay!

I swear, Gematsu is slowly becoming more and more like Siliconera by the day. The only thing is we have respectable mods/admins who aren’t using their comments sections as a “bully pulpit” to ban anyone who disagrees with them.

People used to be respectful here but now everyone’s either a major douche, a crazed lunatic(Auragar), or a fanboy.

        • MrFinalgamer

I just hate seeing these types of comments. The game is from NISA. The game is most likely already out, or will be fairly soon by the time they post a trailer for NA. There’s plenty of gameplay to look for on the vast internet.

          • Zackasaur

I agree with you, but the problem is how you present your position. It can make attitudes on the site a bit toxic, even if the initial frustration is justified.

        • Zero

I apologize. I will try and do better.

  • bloodiOS

    Very nice~~

  • DesmaX
    Genre: Hardcore Strategy

    • TetsuyaHikari

You’d have to be hardcore to play a game like this. If they could localize it without it looking so terrible and get rid of the bugs, then it might, just might be worth buying. Until then, I’d say avoid this one like the plague.

  • Ladius

Looking forward to it, after reading some impressions it seems like a rough but very challenging tactical jrpg.

  • Lightthrower

Totally buying the PS4 version, but I was curious, will this have cross-buy?

    • Elvick

Cross-buy? I’m going to go with “nope”.

  • Josephl64

This and that Idol Quintet game making me get that PS4

  • Pyrofrost

I get the feeling NISA will be issuing an apology for this localization, like they did for Last Rebellion.

That said, I’m passing on it.

    • MrFinalgamer

Was Last Rebellion really that bad? O_O

      • Pyrofrost

For me, it was like Tokitowa or Enchanted Arms. It was an extremely shitty game, that I actually had tons of fun playing.

      • TetsuyaHikari

I’ll put it this way… I rented it back when I was still using Gamefly and it was the only game I ever sent back early, lol.

      • Elvick

It’s broken. It starts incredibly hard, like balls hard. But after like two bosses, you are overleveled for the rest of the game. Because for some reason, the bosses make you level at least 5 times.

I liked it. Beautiful art. But the battle system was under cooked, graphics were PSP-ish (I think I read it used to be a PSP game, with how small the environments are… I believe it) It’s also short.

It’s not a good game. But I enjoyed it despite it’s problems, and got the platinum (which is easy). Bought it launch day for $60 too.

    • TetsuyaHikari

Maybe if NISA provided vouchers for the game and gave each customer $20 to play it, I might participate, lol.

  • HansKaosu

    Take my money
