    NEP-NEP…^_^

  • DarthBrian

    I now require a book-whacking RPG.

  • Budgiecat

It’s a bit strange now how Neptune can have a localized Idol game and Namco is still like “nope” when it comes to the idea of localizing Idolm@ster and Dream C Club….

    • crazyhunter

Because compile heart is the savior of gaminsudtry

      • Budgiecat

        *punts crazyhunter like a football*

    • Elvick

To be fair, I’m pretty sure those have way more songs.

That’s because the main iDOLM@STER titles having dating elements with a rhythm mini game. The same goes for Dream C Club. Dream C Club is pretty creepy to Westerners, so unless you expect them to simply localize it to sell 500 copies or less, it should be obvious why they don’t bother with either of those, lol.

      • OverlordZetta

I’m pretty sure the main iM@S games don’t have dating elements. Not to my knowledge anyway. THIS, however, does.

Not to mention Bioware has probably outdone most of what it probably actually does have anyway.

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Actually, as the Producer, you can form relationships with the idols, so I’d consider that to fall under dating elements :p

      • Budgiecat

Why do the Japanese have no problem with teh creepiness?

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Because they, themselves, are creepy? I don’t know, man, lol. It’s like asking why Americans continue to eat unhealthy foods, even though obesity is a problem.

          • Budgiecat

because of too much Candida bacteria in the intestines..

the bacteria act like addictive parasites that feed on sugar, and most processed foods in America are purposely laced with sugar (even bread), because producers know of it’s addicting quality. the toxic flux of Candida bacteria which metabolizes carbohydrates that it breaks it down to Salsolinol, which is a neurotoxin that is selectively targeting dopamine receptors in the brain, which are the responsible for feelings of joy and comfort and act as an enabler to the addiction…

Dopamine is a powerful stimulating brain chemical. The brain’s pleasure center, the nucleus accumbens, runs on dopamine, thus, dopamine deficiency can cause depression.
However, excessive production of dopamine causes too much electrical stimulation throughout the brain and, hence, subsequent anxiety. In even more severe cases, bipolar disorder and schizoid symptoms can occur. (hmm…)

Consequently, when the gut is overgrown with excessive Candida yeast and toxic bacteria, like Klebsiella, their toxins disable factories in the lining of the small intestine and thus prevent the conversion of tryptophan to 5-HTP., which creates a Serotonin deficiency, which then leads to anxiety disorder, which the addicted brain feels can only be cured by more increased consumption of processed foods to feed the Candida bacteria, which then again raises the Dopamine levels again, causing feeling of comfort. decreasing the intake of these foods can cause Dopamine deficiency, which then can lead to depression; hence the desire to refill the levels of Dopamine by…eating more.

            It’s a vicious cycle.. :P

            • Domo-kun

Thanks for the boring lecture puss-puss.

        • Domo-kun

          That’s your biased opinion.

    • dark-kyon

well bandai namco make money of idolmaster thanks to the dlc, special bundles amd limited edition.the sales of the game are modest, the idolmaster fans in japan are few but they spend great quantity of money in this franchise,in the west nobody gonna spend the crazy high money what banco charge to get dlc costume, gravure videos, limited edition bundled with anime ovas, etc.

    • DarthBrian

It’s because NISA are based gods.

      All hail NISA!

    • OverlordZetta

It’s actually not all that strange. Neptunia is an established franchise that makes big bucks for NISA, so this being Neptunia alone gives it more chance than a pure idol series right there. Further, idolm@ster games tend to have a lot more content, so a barebones game like this that will sell purely based on the girl on the cover is a pretty easy call.

  • FTM

I’m looking forward to PP, but I’m also a bit jaded. I’ve always wanted to play IM@S 2 in English (without a text guide), and I feel like that’s the ‘core’ Idol-Sim everyone is dying to try out. I’m very happy that PP is making the first (?) dedicated gaming-platform step to bring this genre west, but all the same it’s certainly not the one I’d hoped for (*boo-hoo*).
But I’ll support it, as I will the next few Visual Novels coming west (You’ve no idea how much I want ‘White Album’). But I hope that player-responses are a bit off, as it really seems subpar, and especially so for those who don’t care for Neptunia so much (me).
Still; it’s an exciting step in western localizations, but at the very least I hope it’s not the only one.

    • Budgiecat

If I had to pick one ADV type game to come over, it’d be Death Note: Kira Game. And I’d remake it for 3DS/Vita with 2 player vs Online

    • Shippoyasha

I want full on dating sims and otome games to make it too. Some Hakuoki games managed to be localized but more major titles should come out. I would preorder something like the Vita Steins; Gate game immediately.

      • FTM

        Same— but I’m more a Robotics;Notes kind-of guy ;)

      • TrueDefault

I thought there was a Steins;Gate game for PC already? Is the Vita game any different?

  • Learii

is Neptunia pp a rhythm game?

    • dark-kyon

nope,is a visual novel game with idol management system.

      • OverlordZetta

Or it’s an idol simulator, which is a genre that has elements of visual novels.

“Visual novel game” doesn’t really make sense.

        • Budgiecat

Most Japanese games have elements of visual novels these days anyway (an economical presentation design trend I’m not too thrilled about)

      • Learii

oh that good I can’t play rhythm games

  • kurbstar2

Seen absolutely zero excitement for mugen souls z. Time to chalk up another PR failure due to censorship

    • Domo-kun

That live feed NISA had a few days ago playing through the game was a joke. I kept asking why they had to censor the game like the first one, but I never got a answer and gave up.

      • kurbstar2

Everyone will understand if they had to do it because of the ESRB, but NISA specifically stated they censored because of ‘company morals’

Well they can shove it. I buy your games to enjoy the exact same experience as the Japanese in my language, not to have your localization team inject your morals into what I want to buy
