I hope he continues working on games though.

    You Conquered

  • ギャビン

Will he still be making games? Thats all I really care about.

  • Budgiecat

    okay thats great whoohoo

now give us a proper tenchu and A.C.E. game….

    • PrinceHeir

      Tenchu please!

      But i prefer Shinobido.

Give us a proper Armored Core game that is closer to 4 and For Answer which emphasizes on Speed and Mobility.

Another Century game that is similar to Armored Core, but with Gundams, Code Geass, Evangelions.

Throw in Zone of the Enders and Xenosaga as well!!

Hopefully this will be beneficial to the studio and not detrimental; taking your best director off the frontlines may not be the most wise decision.

He was supposedly the chief behind Project Beast, if any of that turns out to be true at all, hopefully he gets to finish directing that game as well as taking on these more managerial tasks.

Yeah, if it is real, a director switch isn’t usually good news for a game. Especially when replacing anyone with Miyazaki.

  • Jay

As much as I think he deserves the promotion, I can’t help but think it may result with him having even less involvement in the Souls games.

  • Ksatmata

    “appointed president of From Software”
    this is hard to understand

    • TheBlackRabbit

      “from software”

      is a company

he is now president of said company

      • Ksatmata

i know and there is more, a director appointing a president

        • TheBlackRabbit

well didn’t the parent company make this decision?

  • MrRobbyM

I really do hope he’s more in charge of the games though, unlike Dark Souls 2.

  • Lara Croft

I wonder if he will be attending E3 this year…. hint hint :P

  • DragonSix

The system is borken, the best directors get pushed up in positions that have nothing to do with directing. For all we know he could be terrible at handling business.

No shit bro. Granted From is a much different company from Konami but look at Kojima since he became VP. Tons of MGS games to the point of brand whoring (the series is Konami’s Kingdom Hearts. You now have to play crap like Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes in order to understand the full story) and no new IPs or classic IP revivals in site (looking at you Contra, Z.O.E. and Gradius).

Heck people even forgot that Z.O.E.3DS leak from a while back and even Konami’s acquisition of Hudson Soft and literally doing nothing with their IPs (Bomberman, Star Soldier series, Bloody Roar are all but dead). I’ll remain optimistic until proved wrong but history has proven your point. Creative minded individuals don’t need to be at the top of the totem pole because they no longer influence the games anymore.

    Started from the bottom indeed.
